I am pretty excited about this fight as both Agbeko and Mares put on great performances in order to advance in the tournament. The tournament final looks evenly matched and it could go either way. Agbeko really looked good in his fight and Mares showed his toughness and focus in his last match in addition to his skill. I currently believe that Mares wins by either a close decision or a split decision, however, I believe that Agbeko is just as likely to win if he fights like he did in his last fight. In my opinion the fight will likely be a fight of the year candidate.

agbeko but due to patriotic means.

i think in the return match against perez he showed a very acute boxing style that he can bring out if he wanted to. made his man come foreword by limping the jab and when he stepped foreword before he can trade he drops a overhand right. did his homework.

I would say Mares by tight UD, but I'm waiting for the official prediction thread.

Mares by UD. Will be a very good close fight though.

Agbeko will deserve a UD, but Mares will get the SD. The suits at Showtime want Mares to be a star, not Agbeko, so Agbeko will need a KO or a 'Hopkins v Pavlik'- like performance to get a decision .

Gut instinct tells me Agbeko UD, but you never know because you're never really sure which Agbeko will show up.

That is my concern as well as Agbeko has at times shown inconsistency.

It's not even neccessarily that, I think Agbeko beat Sidorenko, so in my mind he's lost 1 fight(and it was the wrong strategy against the wrong guy). However, you just really know what he's going to do, it seems like every fight I've seen him in he's fought in a different way.
