I think I've said this a couple of times recently, Holyfield was cutting it close against guys like Cooper- There's no way he'd survive Tyson.

Holyfields propensity to go to war is what wins him any fight against Mikey. Holyfield goes deep. Way deeper than Mike. The guy contains multitudes of multitudes. Mike could be beaten by his own reflection, if he contemplated it enough...

I wouldnt bet on it. Holy from the Foreman fight beats Tyson from the Ruddock fights IMO.

I can definitely see Tyson beating Holyfield in 1991. But I don't know.

I recall sitting around with some fighters talking about Tyson Holyfield around 1990 and the consensus was Tyson kills him. I thought so too and I still thought Mike would get him when they did fight as I thought Holyfield had slipped the most. But watching the fight with a couple of guys one who fought cruiserweight said around the 4th or 5th round that Tyson is getting his azz kicked, that Evander is manhandling him inside . When Tyson got dropped he smiled at me...

    The 91’ matchup is interesting.

Judging by how often Tyson was neglecting his head movement in the Ruddock fights, I would lean towards Holyfield. Part of me thinks Holyfield would always raise his game for Tyson.

But I wouldn’t be surprised if Tyson had won. While Holyfield was faster and fresher in 91’, he was also physically smaller, and more prone to unnecessary brawling. He later said after fighting Tyson that he learned from the Bowe fights how to be more controlled in his aggression, which he was against Mike. I can see this coming back to haunt him against Tyson.
