    It's an unpopular opinion cos it's wrong.

    At 35 GGG was a 2-3 years past prime while ginger nuts was an established prime MW. Yet ginger still needed corrupt Byrd brain to help him to a win.

    He was champion at a lower weight and Canelo clearly got a lot better over the years

    GGG wasn't world Champion until his 30s so the whole he was old thing is kind of a stretch. He wasn't THAT old

    GGG wasn't champion until he was 30 so comparing him to Hagler is kind of a reach

    He was still raw. Obviously very good but no where near prime. He grew a lot since those GGG fights

    This. The Canelo we saw then was hungry and actually had some speed in his steps. Its a night and day difference than the cement footed version we got now.

    Careful, they'll say your a Canelo hater lol.

    It was clear in the 1st fight Canelo was adjusting to the weight. It was also clearly prime GGG in at least the 1st fight if not also the 2nd fight.

    GGG clearly won the 1st fight but a draw was fine in the 2nd fight. I think picking a winner for the 2nd fight was a show of bias...it was neck and neck imho

    The fact that Canelo was new to the division isn't very relevant to whether or not he was prime.
