Unpopular opinion but this fight showed that Canelo still struggles with slick movers

Not the best Saunders, not the best Canelo, but the biggest ring...and Saunders still got stopped with a sore eye

I think he had to do that to some extent, it was the middle rounds when he put more power into his shots and snapped Canelo's head back that I thought he won convincingly.

I still think that single punch power is required to beat him, but BJS made the case for Plant and Andrade being competitive as well.

Yes but how many are there? Plant at 168 but he's not durable enough. Bivol is the man who will arguably beat Canelo

I agree. He's too flat footed. Reminds me of Broner.

Saunders fought to steal the fight, he fought ugly and paid the price when Canelo stepped up the gas and walked through all the smoke and mirrors to put that c0cky ******* down on his stool.

Yeah, I think Canelo looked pretty pedestrian and 'average' rounds 3 through 7 - but maybe that was his gameplan - hard to say.

One thing for sure, he was looking for that uppercut shot the whole fight, and when it connected Saunders was moving into it making it even more of a big shot - and right away Saunders whole demeanour changed.

Maybe that's what defines 'elite' the ability to land those type of punches - and also NOT get tagged with those kind of punches either.

My worry for Saunders was he wouldn't be able to sustain 12 rounds, and that proved to be the case.

Could Canelo have landed that kind of shot on a Ward/Calzaghe/Froch though? Not so sure; would anyone have taken Saunders to beat either of those 3?

Big charlo is the fight to make. Durable can counter has power will bring it. He will lose but it will be a great fight. I would only give Benavidez and Bivol a chance.
