He certainly has the goods, need to see him in with someone closer to elite for gut-tests / chin-test etc.

I'd like to see him in against Ugas, that would tell us lot more

I think it's pretty clear Ennis is an insanely talented fighter with a lot of potential, and he already does a lot of things well. He's sound fundamentally, and is extremely athletic. He's clearly a big puncher as be seems to just disintegrate guys when he touches them, and while they haven't been good, it's still more than what others were doing against others on a similar level. His reflexes are good, but he seems to be too inclined to land the big one, and so gets hit way more than someone of his skills, talent and dimensions should. But he has been landing it, and so far hasn't shown any chin deficiencies.

Ennis is good in all three areas, but it's pretty clear Crawford has the best feet, defence and counter-punching skills at 147 - and arguably all of boxing. Crawford can get away with being far more aggressive against higher level competition than Ennis could without getting hit nearly as much. He's better at knowing the angles of shots and much better at exploiting them and more importantly, putting himself in position to do so. Ennis has excellent eyes, but Crawford's are better. Ennis has very good footwork, but Crawford's is better - clearly so - and Crawford is one of the most creative counter-punchers in modern boxing history, Ennis just isn't proven enough to be rated above him. Keep in mind, though; Crawford is ten years older than Ennis. That experience is why he's better. See how skilled Ennis is in seven or eight years and then it's a fair comparison.

Ennis is one of the best young kids in the sport, and if he keeps his head on right and doesn't have a glass jaw, he'll be around for a while. However, comparing him to a slew of all-time greats when his best win was an irrelevant junior welter who's pretty much only regarded for losing, is ridiculous. He needs much more aggressive match-making if he wants to be regarded how Ortiz is.

I'm sorry, but I do not know what fights you be watching. Crawford gets hit way more than Ennis does. Ennis is much better at slipping, just as good as timing and countering. footwork is indeed better (Crawford looks off-balance sometimes, especially int he southpaw stance), you keep talking about being "proven". Well, Crawford isn't proven either when you talk about levels of opposition. Even Shawn Porter said that Ennis was just too much.

Crawford is a three division champion who unified at 140. GGG is a two time multiple belt champion with a single disputed loss on his career and a record number of successful title defenses. They are being judged by their accomplishments.

Ennis has yet to face a real test and isn't a champion. Your narrative is false.
