Call me crazy all you want. I still pick Shawn Porter to beat Floyd Mayweather at 147 pounds. Any version of Mayweather at 147.

Shawn Porter IMO is a very underrated fighter. He's only been beaten twice, neither convincingly. I thought he was robbed against Thurman. And his two losses were against two top WW's probably the 2 best WW's in the world at the time, both in their prime. Both were young, big, fast and rough.

I like Shawn Porter's aggression, workrate, chin and physical strength to give Mayweather a lot of problems. I don't think Floyd can pull this one out and to be completely honest he wouldn't have touched a Shawn Porter with a 10 foot pole.

That's alright. I admit I'm a little biased because Porter is my favorite fighter under 30 years old. It is interesting to consider that Mayweather had problems with JLC. Who's smaller, slower, weaker and dare I say even a tad less aggressive than Porter. He also had problems with Maidana who's really not as good as Porter.

Shawn Porter IMO was robbed against Keith Thurman. And yes Thurman isn't some master technician, but he's possesses something you can't teach. Youth, speed and power. Those 3 tools in combination has taken some fighters from nothing to ATG. Keith Thurman is bigger than Floyd. He hits a hell of a lot harder. And he's faster than 147 Floyd too. And he had trouble keeping Porter from walking him down.

I can see that! But I can see Mayweather fighting on the inside and not moving to the ropes as much. Porter throwing his shots wide would be his undoing against an accurate counter puncher like Maybaby! Lets not forget how off balance Porter gets, another problem Maybaby will most definitely take advantage of. Not saying It's impossible for Porter to win, but his crude, straight forward approach can work against him.

Yes I agree, but I don't think Mayweather has the style to exploit that. Porter is a relatively crude fighter and a guy like Felix Trinidad for example stops him viciously in a few rounds. Actually that hypothetical fight is gruesome just thinking about. But does Floyd posses a pair of nukes in his gloves? I think not.

crowds himself too much, he punches less effectively than maidana, although stronger he would be tied by floyd all day.

I agree wholeheartedly, Porter is a stylistic nightmare for Floyd, even moreso than Maidana, I don't think Mayweather's power would phase Porter in the least and he'd walk right through all of his counters and would easily outhustle Mayweather for the first 6 rounds, the last 6 it would tighten up enough for Mayweather fanboys to claim it was a close but irrefutable victory, when at best Mayweather would deserve a draw. But in reality, it doesn't matter how well Porter would have done, although everyone should know by now, Mayweather would always win on the cards, Vegas Baby!!!

Porter/Floyd would just be an ugly boring fight because that's the way Floyd would make it, lots of pot shots and holds, Porter being so crude and wild would also force a lot of it as well so Porter would lose simply because he wouldn't be able to get a lot of work done. He' such a wild fighter it often times takes away from the work he's doing or trying to do.

MOST CERTAINLY would be one of those fights where Floyd detractors would scream robbery, cheating, or running....probably all three as they reach for something to discredit the fight or him.

Shawn Porter and low workrate don't belong in the same sentence.

Do you have some form of amnesia?
Did you forget Shawn Porter's main weakness is Mayweather's biggest strength?

I would respect it more if you said Kell Brook would trouble Mayweather.

Brook hits harder than Floyd, and yeah Kell would also trouble Floyd.

Mayweather is not Kell Brook. He can't do what Kell Brook does. That takes a certain combination of size and power.

Where do you draw the line? Karim Mayfield for instance possesses all the qualities in Porter thst you think would bother Mayweather. Do you think Mayfield beats prime Mayweather? Or at some point does skill/class bridge the gap and compensate for any real or perceived bits of style/attribute kryptonite?

Porter is very strong and has great stamina and a chin, but he has very little adaptability at the elite level. He keeps falling short at the top level for a reason. Porter could definitely give an older Floyd a tough time for 4-5 rounds, but once Floyd figures him out he'd pick Porter apart.

A younger Floyd with legs that aren't shot uses his fast feet and reflexes and embarrasses Porter for 12 rounds. If all it took was strength, agression, and a chin Floyd would've lost a long time ago.

Maidana's aggression was less predictable than Porter's and he still lost.

You cant post videos of Thurman and Brook to point to Porters weaknesses. Floyd can't do what they do.
