    Liam Williams has been at mine and you can't fail but to be impressed
    Joe Ward I'd have loved to have seen him turn pro by now, great prospect

    Liam Williams looks top notch

    I guess ward is fighting in APB so his sort of turned over and looked great there but his stamina is a huge worry. He got stopped in the APB by a French fighter because he was gassed by the 3rd round

    I've edited my OP for the Irish posters. I really want this thread to be about boxers to keep an eye out for and really don't want involved in the whole Irish debate. As I stated earlier i support all of the UK boxers as well as the Irish ones. Now it has changed can we get back to the boxing talk now please?

    I think the Irish amateur set up is better than the whole of the GB set up at the moment

    Look at the last world championships we didn't even send our best team and won one gold one silver and one bronze while GB only won one bronze

    I have been a massive fan of the Irish set up since I was there coaching the Scotland youth team, the boxing arena in Dublin is a great place and they have managed to keep boxers that wold be World level professionals as amateurs to fly the flag for their country! If i was a promoter in Dublin i would be looking to use that place and snap up as much of the talent as possible using it for home shows!! They could fill the place for youth/senior tournaments as amateurs and i'm sure the same audience would be there for professional shows!!

    I know David but promoters don't seem to want Irish fighters eg ray moylette world youth and European senior champion elite amateur with style made for the pros never has gotten an offer

    Willie mcloighlin. World champs quarter finalist ,great wsb fighter style made for the pros. Gave up boxing and is now a carpenter , such a waste

    David Oliver Joyce would be headhunted for his talent and his basically a pro in style anyway if he was in any other couentry but is still amateur due to lack of interest

    Paddy Barnes said he would have turned pro already but no interest

    If an Irish promoter was serious and signed up all the talant ireland produces he could have 4-5 world champions be a major player in ireland UK and the states .hopefully someone gets there act together because we have too much depth in our amateurs and having guys like Adam Nolan,ray moylette,Sean McComb,Willie O'Donaghue, Kurt walker etc sitting at home with no chance to go to the Olympics because there not first string is a joke

    It might be the fact that the massive success of the amateur sport with the funding means that the Irish promoters don't have the money to compete with it? I'm not sure about the finances in the Irish set up but I was told that Tom Stalker was on about £25-£30k a year plus a BMW Sponsored car, free board/food/supplements/masseuse etc when at the GB's. That is a massive incentive to stay amateur and except Eddie and Frank no other British promoter could afford that kind of wages for a fighter either!

    That's true for Barnes but not the rest. Moylette receives no funding at all now and his a world youth and European champion yet has never got an offer

    That is strange tbh, wouldn't he be best served trying to get over to the lads at MGM? They have a couple of Irish fighters don't they?
