and yet with all these well experienced trainers of which some are in the Hall of fame if not all of them, agree that its very possible a fighter wouldnt notice... Yet these sofa boxers, these Sofa experts tend to just out right deny that possibility....
I cant argue with the evidence u have presented and i am a ******* so "fuk u n ur life..." "MARGARITO SCARED FLOYD AND THATS WHY YOU POSTED THIS"
I don't know about those pics or what they show but at this point I think the question is more "did Margo know what was in his pads" there's no doubt there was something illegal in there. Dan Birmingham: “My guys watch me closely when I wrap. But what you’re talking about here happens pretty quickly. The pad goes on and then you put more gauze over it. So sure; This content is protected ” Pat Burns: “Some fighters don’t pay attention when their hands are being wrapped. They’re listening to music or talking to someone or watching a television monitor. And even if they’re watching, they’re not wondering what’s in the knuckle pad. If I wanted to put a few layers of hardened gauze inside a fighter’s knuckle pads, This content is protected ” Freddie Roach: “If I did something like that, which I wouldn’t, This content is protected And if I was the fighter; Eddie Futch [who trained Roach] would never have done something like that. But if he had, I think he could have kept it secret from me.” Don Turner: “I wouldn’t do it. I don’t cheat. But if I wanted to, unless what I was putting into the knuckle pad was very heavy, This content is protected Even if the fighter is watching me wrap, he might not know because This content is protected ” Emanuel Steward: “My experience has been that a fighter watches very closely when his hands are being taped. But in a situation like this, it’s definitely possible that a trainer could put an insert in the knuckle pad without the fighter knowing. When I get in the dressing room before a fight, one of the first things I do is make two knuckle pads and put them on the table. I don’t put them in my bag. I leave them out on the table, and so does every other trainer I know of. So I have a hard time believing that Capetillo took the wrong knuckle pads out of his bag by mistake. But the fighter doesn’t watch me make the knuckle pads. A lot of times, the fighter isn’t even there when I make them. So This content is protected unless I told him or the pads were heavy enough that he could feel a difference.” Naazim Richardson: “I’m the wrong person to ask about this. If a guy is driving a truck and tries to run my daughter over and misses, don’t ask me what the punishment should be. But to be fair, yes, This content is protected ”
Right...... regardless of what actaully happened Marg was at fault....Knowingly or un-knowingly. He's responsible and the kuckel pads that were found were NOT approved by the athletic commission so of course he had to be punished. There's definitly something on the pads without question but what exactly is on the pads is still pretty hazy. The fact that Plaster of Paris consists of MANY different elements on only a SINGLE element of Plaster showed up only makes this situation even harder to make a conclusion about for me. But others, like you see a smoking guy. I must admit it doesn't look good but those in the "KNOW" have a lack of solid evidence to prosecute which SHOULD be the case if Marg really knew he had Plaster in his gloves before his fight with Shane.
The thing is, I haven't heard that what they found definitively would have provided a huge advantage if they weren't found. Knuckles themselves are pretty hard, the knuckle pads they put into the wraps are pretty tight as is, there is still a pretty decently padded glove that goes over the hands. This is not the same as taking padding out of gloves, which would give a huge advantage... I don't believe that these small inserts would add all that much to his punching power, if at all. What he did was still illegal, and that's fine.. he did his time... let him back to fight.. how boxing fans don't want to see him back boggles the mind... dude brings it in the ring.. and I like to watch him fight. Selfishly, I want to see him fight Pac.
A couple of questions I feel are vital at this point in time: 1. Did the DoJ actually convict Margarito for using inserts that were loaded with plaster of paris, or did they suspend him for using inserts that were not brand new? 2. Did the DoJ state unequivocally that Margarito's inserts were treated with plaster of paris, or did they simply state that some of the elements detected in his inserts were common to substances such as plaster of paris and hand cream, but were present in quantities too small to make an accurate analysis? If someone could answer these questions it would be most appreciated
Neither. They suspended him for having illegal HARD pads with a white substance adulterated on them. The DoJ stated that they found traces elements of plaster of paris. They didn't state that what they found were common either. The DoJ probably didn't mention anything of hand cream, cause the likely hood of hand cream being on a knucklepad (which is put into a wrap, not on the bare skin) is slim, then to top it off, it being of both pads in that type of condition. Again though, he was suspended for the pads in his wraps for being HARD and adulterated with a white substance. And before someone could say they pads were just old and they got hard. Emmanuel Steward stated that he still has Lennox Lewis wraps from the Tyson fight and they are still soft.
1. Suspend for inserts. 2. The second option. Note: In Margarito's testimony, in his own words said if those "old pads" were not discovered, it would have brought great danger and harm to Shane Mosley.
