Promoter just asked me if I could make 154 by July 10th for a fight.... Is it really healthy to drop that much weight in that short amount of time? My trainer said it was fine but those guys sometimes have an agenda. :think

Note: I currently walk around about 173-5.

20lbs in 1month seems reasonable if you train your ass off.

How much is the penalty if you don't make weight?

If I were you I would train to lose weight for 4-5 days. See how it goes. If it goes well, that's great. If you don't think you can make 154 healthy, forget about training to lose weight. Just train to win and pay the fine.

The dude Im fighting is 0-1. My trainer said I should I have no problem with him.

That was my angle. Get in camp for a week or so and see what happens.

What is your normal fighting weight? Also, is the money good?

I'd say try it but if you just want to stay active then train to win and pay the fee if 50% of the purse is still worth it.

Money is not great, not good at all. I just do it for the thrill actually. My normal fighting weight is 154, but I have not been there in 5 months.

How long did it take you to get to 154 last time?

I really think at 20lbs in 1 month will be OK if you start working on it right now. If you wait another week or so, you'll be ****ed

Id say it all depends on how long it normally takes you to get to 154
