The WBO can do whatever they like, question is what will it cost them in the long run??? Chasing the fees may cause them so big problems down the road. It reminds me alot of the situation with Jones, Nunn, Rocco and the WBC a decade ago. Were they (WBC) stripped Jones of the title because he was having talks to fight as a heavyweight, then allowed Nunn and Rocco to fight for the title chasing fees, only to have to give the title back to Jones for unrightfully stripping him in the first place. That crap almost bankrupted the WBC, the WBO is follow suit here. Cotto isnt due a mandatory, and they cant force him to fight at 145 for a 147 pound title. I smell bad things for the WBO...Maybe that is a good thing.

Who cares? It's a nonsense bull**** ABC title. I don't care if this bull**** title is on the line, I just want to see Cotto and Pacquiao fight.

  6. "The World Boxing Organization (WBO) removed one of Manny Pacquiao’s concerns when it announced Sunday that Miguel Cotto will defend his welterweight crown in a catch weight of 145 lbs — and not 147 lbs — against the Filipino boxing icon."

I can feel a law suit coming on!!!!

The WBA is **** . . . The WBC is **** . . . The IBF is **** and WBO is **** . . . so what's new? It's the man behind the belt that makes it great and respectable.

The belts and titles per se . . . doesn't really have value now a days. But to win a title at 7 different weight classes has never been accomplished before and Pacquiao has a chance to accomplish that . . . that's what counts. The belt is just a catalyst. :D

So cry your hearts out haters!

    :good

I have always said that is the boxer who makes the belt and he is the only one who can make it shine... and not the other way around....

I am going to watch the fight when it happens but it is sad that the WBO is getting involved the way it is getting inlvolved..... abusing its power instead of leaving both parties to agree on their own, in other words to negotiate......

And so is 147... What's common between 145 and 147 is that they both belong to the Welterweight class...

*******s or not, they should already know this if they claim to be knowledgeable.

    145 is just a weight . . . a weight within the 141 to 147 limit of welter weigh class . . . so with a belt on the line or none . . . that's still a welter fight.

There has been a very long arguement about that here . . . do your research.
