Like I siad before Cotto has nothing to gain from vacating his title rather than putting it on the line. As far as the WBO is concerned the catchweight is not even there. The catchweight is an agreement between the two parties and as far as the WBO is concerned if Cotto wants to come in at 147 he can and the title will still be on the line.

 

We don't have to change any limit. Welter is any weight above 140 up to 147. 145 is the contracted weight for this fight . . . if Cotto doesn't want to sign it . . . then no fight. Why will you change the limit.

If Cotto comes in above he has to pay the fine, plus Manny has the option to opt out of the fight without penalty on himself.

 

The WBO is a **** organization anyways. Their title is worthless IMO. Not even in the big 4 The Ring, WBC, WBA and IBF.

 

Cotto should say **** it and come in at 147 pay Pac the fine but come in 100%. If I was Cotto I would do this just to **** team Pac off.

 

If WBO stood its ground and didn't allow a 145 lb fight for the belt, than cotto would have some leverage at the negotiation table. This ****s **** up for cotto, not that he gives a **** about this stupid belt, but at least he could've either got the fight at 147lbs (where it should be) or he could've gotten some more money.
