http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/othersports/boxing/manny-pacquiao/9027088/Floyd-Mayweather-Jnr-contacts-Manny-Pacquiao-personally-to-discuss-possible-megafight.html 3 Scenarios: 1. Floyd will end up fighting Canelo Alvarez on May 5th as this makes sense due to the circumstances present (Conflict of Interest between PBF & Pac, Cinco de Mayo, GBP, etc.) Pacquiao fights either Bradley or Cotto around the same time. Talks of the mega-fight continues afterwards. 2. Floyd will end up signing the contract and has another "injury" during training camp to delay jail time as much as possible. Fight will then take place in an open arena near MGM in November where Floyd will win in a majority decision. Pacquiao will retire and focus on politics. Floyd will retire undefeated and with a nice paycheck. 3. No fight. Floyd and Pac go their separate ways. Boxing slowly dies.
Agree with the above, with robberies and fights we the fans want to see not happening the sport will die on its knees without this fight happening.
1.No way they'll sacrifice the ginger and expose him so soon 2.we can only hope, since it's pretty obvious they arent gonna clash in may 3. most likely scenario. And both fighters legacies' will be forever tarnished if it happens. They'll be remembered as duckers with no pride or respect for the fans and sport
Oh trust me, GBP might want to sacrifice Canelo's undefeated record knowing that they might have only 1 more co-promotion with Floyd left IF the Pacquiao fight goes through. $$$ is a helluva drug. From Canelo's perspective, he has nothing to lose. He gets a shot with the best boxer of our era and gets paid handsomely. If he loses his 0, then at least it was to Floyd.
What is there left to see? I guess Donaire or Gamboa. but seriously, everyone on this forum will agree that boxing has been **** lately. Rios will get exposed real soon when he fights decent opposition who won't let him control the fight inside. This is why people are so upset with the whole Pac/Floyd thing because its like boxing's last hoorah before it becomes quiet for a while until another exciting fighter like Pac and skillful boxer like Floyd come along.
man i could give a **** less about superstars, as long as there are good fights boxing will still be alive. Just cus its not as popular in America anymore doesn't mean its not still one of the most popular sports in the world.

Move on to another sport then. The fight hasn't even been made and we already have the 'last hurrah of boxing' BS.
kill boxing? Ali is gone and boxing's still alive. Tyson is gone and boxing is still alive. Hearns, Leonard Hagler are all gone yet boxing is still alive. Kill boxing? I dont think so.
Ali and Tyson didn't overlap. Hearns, Leonard, and Hagler were fighting together in their own separate time of boxing (which is arguably the golden era) What I'm saying is that boxing will go through a slump until another Pac, Mayweather, Ali, Tyson, Hearns, etc. comes along. But do you think it will get any better with the two dominant promoters running the show, competition from UFC, and the main events (robberies), and the sheltering of fighters recently? We have a middleweight champ trying to dehydrate himself because no one wants to fight. We have paper champs who have stellar records because they fight no-name bums. We have people who won't move up in weight because they want to dominate the obviously smaller opponents in their "weightclass," shitty refs, and corrupt judging. seriously. If you don't see this BS, you haven't been watching boxing long enough. If you did, you would know that it's not the same anymore.
oh boy we're not going there again??!?!; this are commercial tactics: raise hopes high, fight another tune-up instead
