I tend to blame Warren more than Yarde, honestly. To me it's clear that the biggest reason for all this is that Warren doesn't want Yarde to fight on Sky. I don't think Yarde is particularly scared of Burton, they did make an offer to Buglioni after all.
Yarde will instead be competing for the WBO Intercontinental title, likely against Dominic Boesel. This would be a good step up IMHO, even though Boesel is coming off a KO loss to Karo Murat. Boesel is boxrec #32, compared to Buglioni who is #36 or Burton who is #109 (for what boxrec rankings are worth).
Despite losing to Buglioni, I think Burton is a better fighter with a better upside and definitely a much harder fight for Yarde stylistically. Burton has a huge height and reach advantage, very good movement. His boxing skills are crisp and he isn't a bad puncher, you won't just walk through him. I think Frank and Yarde know the risk/reward ratio isn't great, and they want the easiest option Knockouts cause amnesia, Burton was beating Buglioni easily before he got sloppy and was stopped. Yarde hasn't been past 3 or 4 rounds, he wont test the cardio like Buglioni, quite the opposite. Burton will box the ears off Yarde, whether Yarde can put the heat on and bust Burton up remains to be seen. Imo Buglioni is an easy mark for Yarde. He's too easy to hit and Yarde hits too hard, think Yarde pummels Buglioni. If they don't take the Burton fight they are scared, can't blame it on networks, I think Burton would definitely fight on BT/Boxnation.
If it goes to purse bid it will be on BT Sky don't bid high unless you're a cash cow. Yarde is one of BT's next big things of course they will put a good bid in. Saying Yarde won't fight on sky is stupid, he wont have to.
Burton and Buglioni are two average joes. I dunno why it's a stretch for Yarde to beat both handily tbh.
because we don't know what Yarde is yet, average joe, hype job, real deal, next star, who knows? but we won't know until he gets in there with someone like those two
