Some of these comments are quite distasteful. Taylor's clearly suffering from chronic traumatic encephalopathy from his years in the ring, and cannot be considered in his right mind. Situations like his are why I don't begrudge any boxer taking any and all opportunities to make their money and get out while they can. What the hell does fighting for the fans mean when they'll just throw you on the scrapheap when you're done?
Very well said. It's tragic for all concerned. I feel for him and for his family who have to deal with the impact his injuries have on his behaviour. In mathematical terms it's best expressed as the square root of **** all... Every boxer that retires with their faculties intact is a small victory for the sport. Every time those guys are tempted back to the ring they should carefully consider the likes of Taylor or Adonis Stephenson.
Bad taste aside, I never got this phrase. Seems like it'd be the picking up that'd get you in trouble.
Yeah that's right Taylor was stringing together some victories. I thought Soliman was going to beat Taylor (was wrong but Thought Taylor was a shell of himself). Then we hear he attacks a couple allegedly for dropping JT's belt? Next I believe he KO'd some fella at a mental institution of sorts?? Sad I heard he was a good guy at one point?
Sad how so many of his "fans" and team started turning their back on him after the Pavlik and Froch fights . I don't think he ever got past that sense of betrayal and bitterness. At one time, he was looked at as Arkansas' pro franchise, the "Golden child", and even had Bill Clinton as a fan. The CTE from the punishment he was taking just made it that much worse and his behavior much more erratic. I hope he can turn things around in some way and find peace. I didn't think he'd have been a fighter to have turned out to be a danger to society.
