Update on Tyson Fury training comeback

If Fury had come back this year already I'd have said he'd have a good chance of being #1 again.
But he's not coming back soon, and maybe not ever.
If he does come back, it will be too late.

It's a shame really, because there are not many promising fighters with skill at heavyweight these days. The division still sucks and while Fury may not be a great fighter he showed better boxing skills than any of the other young Heavyweights have shown.

tbf ricky hatton did offer to help him overcome his personal issues. looks like he got through to him.

 

In hindsight he probably got out at just the right time anyway. Although we could all mostly have seen a fury ud over joshua. In reality joshuas was/is a bit too dedicated for fury. Fury could outbox people...but joshuas not really a boxer anyway. He pretty much comes to fight. I think to beat joshua you need a punch. Fury didnt really have it. His plan would be to frustrate joshua...tbh no sure anyone would frustrate joshua for the full twelve.

Whereas klitchko was pretty much a boxer when fury outboxed him...he didnt really know what to do with him. The thing is joshua does have that plan b.

 

What's his plan b? He's just a huge puncher, I can't see much else.

 

Its not so much a plan b more theres different aspects to his game. Klitchko had a pretty set system using his advantages. When he came up against a guy that it didnt work against he didnt really know what to do. Whereas joshua doesnt have that set system. He can box with anyone out there atm for me. Actually quite a proficient boxer. On top of that hes got the power and the workrate. I genuinely think joshuas staminas very good for a guy his size. Its only when he gets tagged he shuts down. By far his biggest weakness. I dont think tysons enough of a puncher to favour against joshua. His downfall will be a guy that can crack more than anyone that can outbox him. He,d also shut the ring down better than klitchko did against fury and try to get inside. Klitchko was happy to try and sit on the outside trying to box with the bigger fury. Because basically he didnt have much of an inside game to talk of. Whereas joshua does. That would be the difference. He,d let his hands go up close.

At this stage i think fury gets a hiding...joshua too dedicated. No one can get away with cutting as many corners as fury against a guy as hungry and dedicated as joshua. But even looking back...fury at his best was struggling with joshua. Fury had a tremendous night against klitchko...but that was the very best of him also...he has always been a bit of an unknown quantity. We we,re all comparing joshua v fury as the very best version of fury but there was no guarantees how fury would even enter the ring. I know where my money would be going...past or present fury against joshua. Joshua everytime.

Fury would have success in a comeback at this point...but it,d probably need to be against guys he could use his size/length adavantages over. Like guys sitting at 6 foot 2 shorter arm span etc. With joshuas speed in the punch the sleight height advantage etc would be nuetralised a bit.

 

Fury looking huge again, drinking and devouring KFC. I don't see a way back for him. His game relies on good movement and therefore good conditioning. With what he's put his body few in the last few years he's just never going to get back to the conditioning he had in the Wlad fight. Shame as he's great to watch.

 

Think hes better off retired tbh. Still looks like hes quick enough on his feet etc. But hes mentally done. Got bigger problems than lets get him fit and see what he can do.

 

Hopefully he stays retired. He was never any good for the sport.

His ducking of Price was just outright cowardly
He'd look like an utter buffoon when he dressed as Batman or went off "on one"
Beat a blown up CW in Cunningham to get a shot
Put on a terrible show to win the title (compare that to how AJ went at Wlad)
And has just had his finest hour eclipsed by AJ both in performance & attendance

I never did like or rate Fury.

He was nothing more than a child trapped in a man's body, who in the end, for a "fighting man", did more talking than fighting.

 

AJ was almost knocked out by an older, 17-month-inactive Wladimir.

Fair enough, criticize Fury all you want, but it is a bit ridiculous to try to make out AJ's win over Wlad is superior.

AJ-Wlad was more entertaining precisely because it was a see-saw battle where AJ came back from the absolute brink of defeat.
Fury-Wlad was boring precisely because Wlad had no answer to Fury's skill and Fury wasn't pressed to do much at all to get a clear win.
Strangely, Wlad's face look just as bad (worse in fact) after Fury was through with him ... !??!!

 

THAT Wlad would have knocked Tyson's head off his shoulders. Wlad was vintage that night.

AJ laid him out, that's how a passing of the torch fight is supposed to go down. Not like hat joke of a "fight" that Fury had with him.

 

I get you not enjoying the Fury-Klitschko fight, that's understandable mate, however writing off his win because he didn't get punched in the face much or have to climb off the canvas is just barmy.

Wlad was no better against AJ, he just had a far easier target to fight against.
You're believing it was a better Wlad simply because you can't stand to give Fury any credit whatsoever.

Unfortunately Wlad didn't have a torch to pass. He was an ex-champion.
And, no, the younger 27 year old guy isn't supposed to struggle from the brink of being KO'd when he's matched against the old 41-year-old.

I agree it was a great fight.
And Fury's win over Wlad is open to fair critcism too. By all means, criticize the dullness of the fight, no one will disagree there. But the fact is Fury performed better than AJ, because he won easily. AJ struggled terribbly against Fury's leftovers.

What you have wrote is a fair point, but a lot of Fury fans seem to think it means Fury beats AJ because he beat Wlad in easier fashion which is ridiculous.
