    August, 2007:

    1. Jaidon Codrington - Everyone knows what happened vs. Allan Green, this kid may very well have the worst chin among known fighters that we have seen in years. Recently, he nearly got taken out by a 14-16 tomato can and look for him to be removed accordingly as soon as he steps past the tomato can level. It is doubtful that any fighter could be ranked over Jaidon this year, even the famous Fraudley Harrison.

    2. Fraudley Harrison - Truthfully, no explanation is needed, but since many non-chin checkers actually defend these types, an explanation will be provided...
When Fraudley was coming up he was overhyped and overpaid due to Olympic success, he was however frequently rocked by light hitting tomato cans, he fought overly tenatative when stepping up to the journeyman level and when he finally fought aggressively against a mediocre hitting journeyman in Sprott, he got laid out flat. Since he was brutally KTFO by a totally average hitter, and since the effect was so damned beautiful for all of us who take the time to check chins, Fraudley gets a number 2 ranking on our list STILL.

    3. Delvin Rodriguez - Getting KTFO by a light hitting, punchy journeyman in Jesse Felciano is about as bad as it gets... this kid has some decent skills, but his chin may very well rival Jaidon Codrington in the grand scheme of things.

    4. Jason Litzau - Back in 2005 this kid was nearly stopped by a light hitting journeyman, the public defended him because he was entertaining, in December 2006 he was KTFO straight by a mediocre hitting journeyman. There may be worse examples, but his obnoxious personality and the wonderful effect of him getting KOed by Hernandez has Litzau at number 4.... well deserved I might add as he has awful punch resistance.

    5. Rey Bautista - A hype job obliterated in a single round against his first test, brought along a bit too soon maybe, but he won't be doing much with that fragile jaw he's sporting. Look for him to get starched again if they build him back up and then take another risk.

    6. Hasim Rahman - Here is a fighter who has been sparked more times than any ranked Heavyweight. The ONLY thing that keeps him out of the top 5 is the fact that he's always sparked by decent-good fighters at least, where these others get sparked by nobodies. Rahman was recently rocked by Taurus Sykes.... if that's how he's going to take a shot for the rest of the year, then he may very well enter the top 3.

    7. Cornelius Bundrage - K-9 getting KTFO in round 1 vs. the light hitting Sechew Powell is pretty damn nice.
And it happened again, albeit against a decent Welterweight puncher, so he's not moving up just yet and his career may be over.

    8. Mike Anchondo - One can forgive Mighty Mike getting stopped by a very heavy handed Jorge Barrios, but it seems his punch resistance has degraded since then as an average hitting fringe contender KOed him flat in the 3rd round in his last outing. Awful.

    9. Alejandro Berrio - To be absolutley fair, Berrio is a legitimate contender and is not a joke by any means, he also carries 1 punch KO power and will fight anybody at anytime. However, his one glaring weakness is a weak chin, seeing as he's been starched in all 4 of his losses. The only reason he's not up higher is because all 4 of those guys have respectable punching power, unlike some of the jokes above who have been starched by mediocre and light hitters.

    10. Felix Sturm - I am still going to hold being KOed by Castiellejo over Sturm's head and I believe that this joke will be rise up in the list, in turn showing his true jaw to the masses once he faces and gets annihilated by a real MW hitter, or even a LMW hitter for that matter.

Sorry, but Bautista was knocked silly in the 1st round, he also had exhibited chin issue's before that and Ponce was just an exclamation of that.

Sturm deserves to be there and it will show in the future.

    ...

    Btw, A-50 -

Khan has yet to be 'officially' starched and Jones is an ATG who doesn't belong on any poor chin list.

Ignorant for knowing how to correctly gauge punch resistance to the point of calling them at a perfect success ratio?

Excellent analysis. I would put Fraudley at #1 and Rahman a little higher and probably throw Kahn in there in place of Sturm - but you've got all the classic china chins among active rated fighters identified. Good work, Chinchecker!! :good

So??? He got laid out by Tarver who's an above average puncher and Glen Johnson who a below average puncher.

    Zakman,

is Sturm's chin that bad? I have not seen him enough to notice, just know he went the distance with DLH.
