Well me personally and anyone I know, we would rather have scored the knockdowns. There's something about putting your opponents ass on the ground, specially 3 times. I'll put it this way, if you were to ask me who outbox who, its clear JMM outboxed Pac. But if you ask me who kicked whos ass, well if my ass got put on the canvas 3 times, I would feel uncomfortable saying I kicked my opponents ass...
Im not saying this is what happened , but just trying to understand your logic... If i'm in a fight with someone an hit them 300 times, an they only hit me 3 times but an each time he hit me he knocked me down.... I got my ass kicked even tho i hit him 297 times more than he hit me:huh
Like you said, thats not what happened. They landed about the same amount of punches overall, JMM getting the edge in some rounds by a couple of punches. So the answer is yes, if I put your ass on the floor and you land a couple of extra punches on me but it doesnt even phase me cos Im still standing and ready to fire back, id take that as a win for me. Its akin to 2 teams playing football, 1 team has 60% possesion and play better, the other team only has 40% possesion but scores 3 goals to the other teams 0. Who really wins? Sure you may have outplayed us but we bagged those goals in.
well sure if you have those kinds of numbers in the punch stats. But they aren't exactly representative of the punch stats of the fight now are they?
Fair enough, i thought you were implying that just because someone knocks someone down 3 times it means they kicked their ass, no matter how many times he got hit himself.
Obviously you just took it to the extreme For the record, JMM landed a total of 10 more punches throughout 12 rounds. 10. I would trade 3 knockdowns over my opponent any day to receive an extra 10 punches. lol.
Yeah it was just a tad extreme I'm with you on that one, id have the 3 knockdowns over 10 punches everytime.:good
rewatching that, I can see either 114-111 or 113-112 for Pacquiao. Jim Lampley was very very biased in favor of Marquez, and unfortunately that influences people every single time.
He wanted Marquez to make the comeback and make it a great fight...no question. He was also of guilty of failing to call shots Morales landed in the rubber match with Marco Antonio Barrera. Merchant, I find, never does this...
