I liked the commentating Cortez did a good job I like Rosario never stopped looking for a way to win, Barrera was doing some good work
Absolutely. Some nice combo's thrown in there by an inactive and not altogether confident Marco, and the commentator was guilty of the same thing as everyone else. He thought Marco would be done at the elite level, it shined through in some of his comments regarding a Mckinney rematch and the possibility of fighting Naseem Hamed.
thanks for all the uploads selfkill. will be watching them as soon as i have time. for the meanwhile i have bookmarked them and those penalosa-kawashima fights.
thanks Addie I could not help but to laugh how the announcer criticized Barrera for moving to the left and how he would not fare well against Hamed--was he wrong about both. This fight aired on local TV in the 90's, back when LA regularly hosted great fights. Your vid got me hooked on Barrera again--it reminded me why I favored Barrera over Morales.
I'm glad you enjoyed it mate. Marco was beautiful to watch, poetry in motion with those combination's. Currently uploading a fight of his at Super Flyweight. People forget that Marco could have conceivably become world champion there before moving up, he won a title elimator. It's his fight against Neo Santillana, good quality and a nice performance from a very very young and raw Barrera. a 19 year old Barrera, in fact.
:good thanks addie! i just can still remember you with your old handle. btw, why the change? is that your real name?
No mate. When I would get ambushed by about 5-6 Pacquiao fanatics they'd always go, 'go kill yourself'. ...Then I watched a film called Paper Moon which was wonderful and I always liked the name Addie. Hence the change. My real name is Scott.
Yes, Esteban Ayala... I pretty much watched all his fights between that one and the fight with Hamed.
