This was the winner on the recent poll. Very fun fight, great performance on the part of Orlando Canizales. Enjoy.

I have to say, I still much prefer the first fight, on the part of both men. Seabrooks looked more or less shot there. That first fight must've taken a hell of a lot out of him, which is understandable. He'd lost almost all of his snap and tenacity. Canizales looked a tad more lackadiasical to me as well believe it or not. Not quite as sharp with his movements, lacking the same pop in his punches, etc. It seemed to me that he was so fully aware of his superiority over Seabrooks that he came in a bit undertrained and/or lacking the same motivation. Either way, it was a very one-sided affair. He seemed to step up the notch as the fight progressed, more or less due to the fact that Seabrooks wasn't really offering up much. Still a good performance, but I can't agree that it was the best from Orlando, not by a long shot.

Well I don't really understand that, Pea. Their first encounter was far more competitive, and that didn't have a great deal to do with Seabrooks being in better nick. In fact, you'll hear Clancy talk during the commentary in this fight about how he definitely see's improvement in Kelvin. I didn't see any improvement, I just think Orlando's hands held up this time around whereas before he revealed afterward that his hands swelled up badly. I spoke to Jesse Reid Jr and he told me that it was a result of the small gloves they were using, and it was actually a regular occurrence.

The first fight was only allowed to be more competitive in my mind because of those injuries. Orlando was just insanely sharp in the first 3-4 rounds in that bout, and you could tell something happened because he would throw less, and would get hit more. He maintains a constant quality here, his combination punching just brutal and the finish was probably one of Orlando's better combination's of his career. Seabrooks looked sluggish and over-matched in their first fight...he was just lucky Orlando sustained an injury.

    That's my take, anyhow.

I hear you. I initially thought the same thing from Seabrooks, that he'd opted to take a more calculated approach in the fight, but as it wore on that impression waned, especially on the odd occasion that he did open up. He just seemed to have lost a full step in pretty much every way.

I don't know what it was, but Orlando just didn't seem quite as quick, sharp, and snappy as he did in the first fight, regardless of the injury which slowed his progress in the middle rounds. Not to me, anyway.

I have no sound on my computer, by the way. That can be a better thing without the unnecessary commentary, but it can also take away from certain aspects, such as the thud and effect of the punches. I don't know man, I just didn't see what you and Greg saw.

Greg feels this was a better performance too does he? Well, I think I should give the first fight a much needed re-watch. As I say, the first few rounds in that fight Orlando was on a different planet to Seabrooks and it's my belief that if no hand injuries occured, he would have stopped Kelvin in the middle rounds. The loss of sound may be an issue, all of Canizales super slick combination's meet with a thud and that leaves an imprint in the mind of the viewer.

Regarding Seabrooks, I'm really not impressed with him at all. He meets with the odd right hand, but he just seems so sluggish in everything he does, it's just target practice for Orlando at times. That is exactly how it was in their first fight until Orlando, for some strange reason, lets the foot off the gas and allows Seabrooks to make the fight more competitive. I think both fights will impress people though, both on Seabrooks ability to absorb punishment, and Orlando's ability to dish it out.
