Upset of the year 2009 so far?

Ramirez v Alexeev gets my vote. I mean Alexeev was a huge favourite. I had actually seen a brief clip of Ramirez on youtube, and he seemed a vicious come forward fighter. However he had not beaten much in the way of opposition and Alexeev had just destroyed Calloway, so I assumed he would be too much. WRONG!!!

I actually thought that there was a good chance that Afolabi could win against Maccarinelli, if Enzo fell into the same trap as Eric Fields did. However I assumed that Maccarinelli would have watched footage of Afolabi or at least read up on him. But he went and made the same error, and punched himself out going for the KO. I told my friends Macca on on pts as he would never KO the iron chinned Afolabi (I was at least half right).

I did not see Martinez beating Cook as an upset, I picked him to win anyhow and I believe he was a slim favorite. Although after seeing him, he did not impress me that much.

Cermino beating Mijares was a big upset, however I had not ruled it out completely after the beatdown Mijares received against Darchinyan. Cermino had not beaten any big names, but was unbeaten and had won all his fights convincingly plus Mijares was moving up in weight.

Dunne v Cordoba was a big upset to me, as I had expected Cordoba to box rings round Dunne. Instead however he chose to come out aggressively looking for the KO (must have watched the Kiko Martinez fight).

Mosley v Margo was a pretty big upset, although the nearer it got to fight time I started to waver and had a feeling that Mosley would be a stiffer test than previously thought and could not rule out the upset.

I actually picked Reyes to beat Diaz after reading an interview with him. He was just so genuinely positive and knew this was possibly his last chance. Diaz had looked pretty good in his last two fights but his chin is not the strongest.

I saw Viloria v Solis as almost an even 50/50 fight which could go either way.
