Obviously he wasn't a defensive wizard, but what specifically did you see that made you seriously doubt his chin? :think

People think it's an upset because the guy who won had a record of 18-12-1 (7).

The thing is, Martinez is one of those Cristobal Cruz, Orlando Salido, and Emanuel Augustus type - much better than this record suggests and has lost a lot of very close decisions and only rarely gets stopped. He also has more power than his KO ratio suggests.

He's like a Mexican super featherweight Glen Johnson. :yep

No. But at this point, nothing will surprise me. Well a Nielsen win over Holyfield WOULD surprise me..

Yes. But Nakamura has a good Jab. He is not a KO Hype, he is a strong Boxer-Puncher. A glass Jaw is not enough to be a bum.

And you can add Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. to the never ending list of upsets, over the hill and clearly undersized Jorge Arce lived up to the Mexican warriors recent success and stopped the undefeated Puerto Rican champ in the 12th.

Not only that, but Kelly Pavlik came close to lose to an absolutely padded dude, only winning a majority decision. What is not considered and upset but title changed hands nontheless, Australian Daniel Geale beat Sebastian Sylvester in an exciting and convincing fight, I wanna see him fight Sergio Martinez next. But the real question in this thread is:

    WHO NEXX?

These upsets are absolutely crazy. It's getting out of hand.

If you had told me a week ago that Arce would stop Vazquez Jr, I would have told you to **** off. Can't believe what I saw last night.

I am ****ing shellshocked about WV2 losing. In normality, I'd be delighted for Jorge, but I'm on the brink of tears here.

Is it the weekend effect that make people act dumb? Bute beat then-top3 SMW & IBF champ Berrio, Top5 Andrade twice (who was coming from a win over current SMW champ Stieglitz), the 2nd one by the impossible KO, beat top10 Bika far more convincingly than P4P-er and SMW #1 Ward in that dirtfest and even Miranda more convincingly than Ward (or Pavlik). Add Magee that gave Froch a very tough fight (bet it's news to you) and Zuniga that knocked Pavlik down but was blasted out here.

Actually I don't think many have a better resume than Bute at 168lbs. You know what's Ward's claim to fame? Beating Kessler. You know who Kessler beat before their fight? Andrade, Beyer and Mundine. So stop acting like Bute has a shitty resume and everyone else are one foot into the HOF. In fact get your **** outta my thread. It's about boxing upsets not you upsetting be with BS.
