Smith jr vs Hopkins Porter vs garcia Alvarez vs golovkin 2(I thought ggg would get robbed) Maidana vs broner
Calzaghe vs Lacy Can't remember the exact betting odds but after watching some clips of Lacy couldn't believe how close many people had the fight going in, knew that Lacy was way too slow to land anything and had little but a punchers chance.
Yep, I kept seeing Gabe's excellent performance against Luis Arias (which he didn't get full credit for) in the back of my mind and couldn't shake it, and figured he'd try to pull something similar against Jacobs, who that style would be best against. I was spot on, and he didn't get a lick of credit for it sadly. Robbed of the best win of his career, just like he got robbed of his other best win, against Murray.
I remember thinking there was no way possible for Pavlik to beat Hopkins but I was in the minority. Hopkins was bigger, faster and too disciplined defensively for Pavlik to have any offensive success. Also Sergio vs Pavlik went as I thought too while others expected Sergio to get KO’d. Another one I didn’t understand was Bute vs Froch. I seen enough of Bute vs Andrade to know that Froch was gonna bully him into submission..
Khan Vs Prescott A big puncher against a young and inexperienced Khan who had serious questions over his chin.
Winky Wright-Shane Mosley. I think most hardcore fans when Winky was an awful matchup for Shane. Shane hadn’t looked good in his previous fight, a controversial win over DLH. Shane was the bigger name, and Winky was more than a 2 to 1 underdog.
Going back some, but Carl Thompson v David Haye. I had seen enough of Haye's early fights and enough of the cat over the course of his career to see what was going to happen a mile off. Haye, with the confidence of a 23-year-old youth, would go out all guns blazing trying to make a statement by blowing Thompo out, wouldn't manage it and would leave himself with an empty tank. Lo and behold...
I bet about $300 on Groves over Eubank. Eubank was favourite with sportsbet so I got a good return. I knew Groves would beat him.
