1. Andre Ward 2. Tim Bradley 3. Leo Santa Cruz? 4. Shawn Porter/Keith Thurman 5. Danny Garcia HM: Russell, Wilder Or some ****
Santa Cruz is Mexican. Aw, I forgot Russell. I'd easily put him over Wilder. 1. Bradley 2. Ward 3. Garcia 4. Crawford 5. Russell Jr. Jhonny Gonzalez better than anything on Wilder's or Charlo's resume.
Ward Mikey Garcia Crawford Spence Julian Williams 5 most overrated/overhyped: Bradley Wilder Santa Cruz Porter Thurman
No way is Bradley overrated. He's the #1 welterweight currently. He's fought way better opposition than Ward. And why keep mentioning Santa Cruz? He's rated as a Mexican. A while back, I would've said he's overrated. Since he's beaten Mares, he's pretty underrated now. If he beats Frampton, I'd rate him above Canelo.
Since Pacquiao and Mayweather retired, he is for sure, easily. Who do you rate as #1 WW? Kell Brook? Dudes best win is effing Porter and nothing else. Bradley's win over Vargas grew. Bradley is for sure the #1 WW currently. Anyone saying different is just plain wrong, always will be.
Brook, Porter and Spence are better. Thurman, Khan and D. Garcia are very close. Broner is questionable... So, Bradley is #4-7 WW...
Santa Cruz is as American as Mexican. He was born in Mexico, but he grew up in LA, competed as a US amateur, turned pro in and has fought almost all of his fights in the US, currently lives in the LA area, the Mares fight was hyped as the battle of LA, and he speaks English as well as Spanish. He's yours, deal with it. I mostly threw him in as overrated as a reaction to other posts who listed him as one of the best 5 American fighters. He's not. Top 10 is really pushing it. He's a good outside boxer, throws a lot of course and brings it, but doesn't have great defence, isn't that sophisticated, and more to the point I don't think he beats Selby, Russell, or indeeed Frampton. Under no criteria should Bradley be considered the number 1 welterweight. As far as resume, in 3 of his 8 fights he was second best to Pacquiao, he went life and death against a guy who was outboxed by John Molina, and he barely s****ed by an ancient Marquez who fought too conservatively but still I thought proved himself the better fighter. His only dominant, impressive win was over punching bag Brandon Rios. As far as skill, he's been as successful as he has with speed, athleticism, condititoning, and toughness. His defence isn't that good, his boxing iq is worse, he has below average power, and his chin is questionable. He doesn't beat Brook, Spence, Thurman, Garcia, Khan, or Porter. So overrated, and no way one of the top American boxers today.
