It's his fault. If he is unable to control them, he's to blame. That's a coaches job.

You can't compare boxing in the US with that of Cuba. This kind of system works in a place like Cuba, not in the USA.

****, I feel bad for the kids who spent a year of their lives on this to get knocked out of the Olympics after one fight (or like one after no fights)... it's going to lead to tons of second guessing.. especially with a guy like Warren.. where there was no excuse for that lose.

Well, until we begin a better training system that can work it's way down to the grassroots level, we'll continue to suffer on the international scene. We don't have many career amateurs at that elite level in the USA.

Sometimes boxer/coach is an important PAIR. These guys win the trials only to be split up from what got them there? Sounds like a bogus system.

By and large our individual coaches, the grassroots coaches, don't have international experience. USA Boxing has announced plans over the course of the next year or two to hold something like 50 international invitationals to get more coaches and more boxers international experience. Ironically, the one boxer on the team who's coach did have a bit of international experience was Rau'shee Warren.

I once saw the legendary cuban head coach Sagaras give a fighter (Rubelkada- Super Heavyweight) on what to do, this was at the end of the first round, He went out and totally did the opposite and ended the round down on points.... when the round was over Sagaras slapped him, took his headgear of and told him to leave the ring.... they walked off into the looker room withdrawing from the fight.

Wouldn't doubt that story at all. Campbell, on the contrary, looked like a lame duck out there.

His advice was useless. He'll be going bye bye after the Olympics. I really don't understand any of the choices they made for the coaching staff aside from Basheer Abdullah. I have my personal favorites for more international coaching gigs, but I doubt USAB will go for them.

Andrede has just gone out. The scoring was a little 'iffy' though.

I thought the decision was fair.

Andrade did throw a little more than his Korean opponent, but most of his flurries were hitting gloves and arms as the Korean covered himself up nicely. Conversely, I thought the Korean threw a little less, but scored well when coming out of his defensive posture and countering Andrade rather clean with his shots.

For clean punches landed, I thought the Korean had the slight advantage in the bout, and thought the 11-9 score was indicative of the closeness of the fight.

I thought there was several times that Andrede landed uppercuts that wern't scored. Not the worst decision but I still thought the Yank had done enough.

Raushee was the only one i felt that could have gone all the way IMO, he fought a stupid fight from what i've heard. For some reason i was never really impressed by Andrade, from what i've seen anyways.
