WOW! I had no idea it was that simple. You inspired me. I am now going to simply buy a mansion on the beach and marry a few super models. atsch You want to come over and **** one of them?
I agree with you on Herring and Breazele. I didn't think Breazele had much power in the amateurs, but I'm surprised to see he's KOed all his opponents. and Spence said in an interview that they were trying to get down to WW, but I think they're going to stick with Light middleweight now. There was one fight I saw where he weighed in at 149 pounds and rehydrated to 163 pounds on fight night
163 is way too big. He's 5'9, so he's not terribly undersized. Better to keep him comfortable and see how long he can make 154. Any word on Raushee? I've seen only 2 fights of his and he's fighting at 118. I'd think with his huge amount of experience(even with the failures at the Olympics, he's medalled 3X at the World Amateur Championships 1 gold and 2 bronze),he'd get moved up quickly, especially at the lower weight classes.
Joseph Diaz is my favorite, maybe not the best but I liked watching him maybe no medals but I think we have some good pro material, they had pro styles better suited for the 2016 rules of 10 pt scoring so they are designed for the pros might do better than the 08 class which is looking for its first belt
A bit off topic, but the first 2008 Olympian to get a world title shot is Demetrius Andrade, nearly 5 years after competing in the Olympics. In his last fight, the ShoBox announcers said he was having serious trouble making 154, but he became the mandatory to the WBO 154 champ, Baysangurov, after beating Hernandez. He faces him on 7-16(4th of July weekend :deal)
yeah, I saw him having his most success at WW where'd he'd be a lot stronger than a lot of the guys he's fighting and he can take more advantage of his style. It's weird though making the transition because WW in the olympics was like 152 pounds irc And yeah you'd think Rashee and Spence would be the ones getting pushed a long the most, but I really haven't seen much with Rashee. I know he's been tagging a long with Broner though and his "band camp"
5 yrs is a good pace, Taylor took like 4 or 5 to beat Hopkins and Ward 4 or 5 to beat Kessler the rest of that class doesnt look super promising, Wilder might get a title shot in the not so distant future but I doubt he would be ready
Taylor was something. 4-5 years in and beating a top 2 fighter in the world. Even a guy like Kessler is way too much for our 165 lb participant, Shawn Estrada. That goes to show how special Ward was and how weak our amateur teams have been..but the weirdest part is guys like Broner and Garcia(Olympic alternates), are already world class fighters and some of the best in the world. Broner had over 300 amateur fights!
Yea well we're on about pro boxing here and I don't think he'll suit the paid ranks. I hope I'm wrong but I reckon there's more world champions out of the American 2012 Olympic team than there is in ours.
