Only because Brewer was robbed out of a win against Ottke.

Benn couldn't win in the US. Eubank couldn't win in the US. Collins couldn't win in the US. Kessler couldn't win in the US. Ottke, Reid and Calzaghe never travelled (as an SMW in the case of Calzaghe).

Still, just goes to show that everyone has had trouble on the road in this weight class. Go up or down a division (especially before 1990ish when SMW became a regularly recognized weight class) and you'll find that there are far more instances of an American getting a big win in Europe than vice versa.

But there's a reason guys don't travel. I'm no fool. Europeans end up on the bad end of judging in the states just as much as Americans end up on the bad end of it in Europe. If everyone got a fair shake, I'm sure you'd see more fighters willing to travel, but it's everyone's fault, not just the Americans.

And it's a bit of a tangent, but you already said you weren't counting Colombians. Can't count a win over Miranda.

Even through Ward is looking to be the best of super 6 right now, he needs to fight outside of his comfort zone for once and go to Europe. Hopefully it will be against Abraham in the semis of super 6

it is bull**** that ward gets to fight all 3 at home. anyone who says otherwise is just a hugger of his. why is it fair for him when everyone else fights on the road?

Those guys could have had better career chances in America, Starie beat former IBF LHW champ Woods
Wharton gave Eubank, Benn and Reid good fights
Veit only ever lost to fighters who were champs or became champs and has a win over current WBO LHW champ Braehmer
Branco won a world title at LHW
Woods won a world title at LHW
Sahnoune won a world title at LHW
    Cherifi at MW
Tsypko looked unlucky against Lacy and Magee to Tsypko
Rocchigiani won a world title at LHW

Bailey - quit changing the subject. You said SMWs. I was pointing out that no European SMW has ever won a big fight at SMW on US soil either. Closest thing was Froch over Taylor.

As far as I can tell, the ONLY SMW in the history of the weight class who has travelled well was Sugar Boy Malinga, and he was African.

I feel bad for whoever is dumb enough to believe this tripe. Eubank over Rocky was a good road win. Branco over that version of Reid was a good win. The rest of them, not so much.

They were all good wins but
Catley as underdog beating Lucas and undefeated champ Beyer
Froch as underdog beating Taylor away
Reid as underdog winning his title in Italy
Steiglitz as underdog beating undefeated champ Balzsay away

The other wins were good in Kessler beating rated Mundine away
    Calzaghe beating mandatory Veit away

Whats tripe about all of this?
