in response to the UK-USA super middle thread that was started, this is including any fighters who were undisputed heavyweight champs and/or wba, ibf or wbc title holders as a heavyweight.

    USA - 48 fighters
UK - 4 fighters (Bruno, Haye , Fitzsimmons-who was a US citizen at the time he won the title, and Lewis who fought for Canada in the Olympics)

hide was a wbo belt holder and the wbo wasn't even recognized as a major title when he won it.

With all due respect you're talking out of your arse, yes it was, people was calling it a major title back in the days of Michael Moorer and Riddick Bowe.

Just admit you missed one out.

The WBO doesn't even count for **** now.

    Its a meaningless belt.

    Ring - The best
    IBF - Respectable
WBC - Littered with meaningless splintered alphabet titles.
    WBO - Largely ignored.
    WBA - Total ****ing joke.

then why was lennox vs evander for the undisputed heavyweight title in '99 with the wba, ibf and wbc belts at stake? no one was recognizing hide as one of the title holders. same for morrison or mercer. the wbo gained momentum in the early 2000s for some reason.

This isn't the discussion going into the merits of governing bodies all straps are junk these days, it still counts as being a world champion in the record books, one which he missed out in making his point so hes now backtracking.

WBC was always the most prestigious back in the day anyway.

    Fair enough.

I guess officially Haye is a HW Champion too, albeit in the weakest and loosest sense of the term.

But you are right, its a recognized belt, so it counts.

Henry Akinwande to, we love the WBO strap.

Haye, Bruno, Lewis, Akinwande, Hide, Fitzsimmons would be the official list for the record books.
