I see Wilder as the prospect most likely to get a belt after K2 retires. But like Jennings, he hasn't been tested against a Top 20 guy, so we don't really know what he's capable of.
I agree with your take on the decision, but even if it's a win -- how does one go from 'he's garbage, never fought anybody' to some kind of major force by one nicely-boxed points win (had he got the decision). He's fought one decent fighter, at least according to all the critics up to that point. Shouldn't he have to do a bit more to rise in everyone's esteem?
The Scott hype goes all the way back to 05 when he was doing all the right things, fighting often and cruising to easy wins over solid journeymen and then once highly regarded, David Bostice. He continued to dominate solid journeyman like Releford, Magee, and Shufford. Then in 08 he fell off the map. When he returned he went straight after a top journeyman in Releford again. His win over Tupou put him back into the contender picture and then he had his test against Glaskov and IMO, and yours, and most everyones, he passed it with flying colors. Next month he's slated to fight DelBoy. When he dominated DelBoy in a 12-0 or 10-0 rout he'll find himself in the top 10.:think
Scott, Mitchel, Banks are contenders already. Wilder, Jennings, Ruiz Jr., Joe Hanks, Amir Mansour are the top 5 right now.
