Is this still on? Funnily enough looked for info' on this yesterday and it seemed dead in the water.

And now De Niro is playing Arcel? :huh I prefer Bobby but Pacino seems the much better casting there, what with De Niro being six foot and all

 

Its defo Pacino, whoever wrote it has just got mixed up between the two, probably as they are forever linked in debates.

Duran is played by the guy who played Che Guevara in the Motorcycle diary's.

Nevere heard of the guy who is playing Buchanan but apparently he was in True blood and home and Away.

Be interesting which boxers heavily feature, I imagine De Jesus, Hagler, Hearns, Moore and Barkley will have to feature and possibly Camacho. maybe's Laguna as well.

 

I think they will be referred too in name ad we'll see a very unrealistic Rocky-esque scene of fighting. I imagine the Buchanan low blow will be referenced.

Shame the Bonavena biopic with Bardem never came off. What they came up looks a total shambles and is barely about Ringo :-(

never knew about the bonavena piece. i remember the Gomez film starting to get shot and then scrapped not long after.

I also heard that Eminem was going to direct and play a boxer in a film and that got scrapped too

 

I think its very much centred round the leonard fights. I doubt any of those fighters with the exception of de Jesus will feature that heavily, if at all.
