In theory they'll make your punches faster and help you kepp your hands up due to you hands being used to having extra weight. Hoever its 100% fact that punching with weights damages your ligaments and joints

    Agreed.
Shadowboxing with light weights aint bad as long as it doesnt affect your technique.

I think using bands would be a far better idea. Weights provide resistance in the vertical plane which is for the most part perpendicular to your punch. Which is basically putting a torque on your joints and inevitably causing damage. Bands provide resistance parallel to the plane of your punch causing the force to be absorbed into the frame.

people shadow box with weights all the time, they're called gloves.

    advantages are stamina.

just shadow boxing with gloves/weight is not going to make you faster but if you train hard after you take the weight off its similar to over-speed training for a few moments and it can help you train faster.

i usually do my training with gloves and end it with a round of hard shadow boxing with out gloves for this effect, but id imagine something like 2 mins of light shadow boxing with gloves followed immediately by 1 min of hard shadow boxing with out gloves would probly be a good way to improve speed.

shadow boxing with dumbbells is stupid, just use gloves.

    troll troll troll your boat...

when the trolls post theirs ill post mine. Tis what i agreed to so I'm guessing at this rate ill never have to post a video.

remember that one thread i think the title was "shadow boxing with light weights for stamina" and we spent like 3 pages were you were arguing that shadow boxing with heavy weights would ruin your form like you never even read the thread title.....troll troll troll your boat gently down the stream.....

  13. honestly i dont believed youve sparred 1 round in your entire life , those videos of you shadowboxing bag training etc are extremely poor

ok, your entitled to your opinion. lets try not to turn this thread into a troll thread and stay on topic.

  15. if your still fairly novice or are a beginner , i would advise not to use dumbells while shadowboxing , until you have your technique down to a tee its best to stay away from that , once youve mastered your game then start using dumbells , i pressume as your asking the question you are fairly new to boxing , if not then yeh go for it !
