Comparing the time of Frazier first winning a belt ,up to beating Ali is roughly 3 years .So if we compared Tyson at the same time scale it takes us to 1989.So how does Tyson of the Bruno /Carl the truth do against Ali of FOTC ? Results?
Yep its Ali not at his best ,and Tyson struggled against Bruno but took out the Truth in 1.Ali comes from behind to stop Tyson in 10.
Ali was the better fighter but the FOTC Ali, who came out and traded hooks, gets murdered. Really a matter of poor strategy.
I see your point regarding trading hook s ,not sensible against Tyson. But could he keep that up against Muhammad before he ends up blowing ?One thing we no about Ali is he absorb s punches like a sponge. 15 round s is a long time to keep the pressure on ,like Frazier could .
Tyson wrecks him. Ali was hit so easily by Frazier's hooks, over and over again. Tyson's would have been faster, more frequent, and more damaging.
I reckon Tyson takes post 75 Ali on points Gordon, but I think even the still Rusty 71 Muhammad beats him.Not easily by a Long shot ,as I said probably having to come from behind on the cards.
Slightly tricky. I am thinking on the lines of Ali-Shavers. Ali was not the FOTC fighter by the time he faced Earnie, but Earnie was no Tyson, big right hand or not. Even with a slightly younger and keener Ali, I don't think this would be a blowout over Tyson for him. I think Ali would struggle with a prime Tyson in the early rounds, but he may manage to pull off a UD if he fights the right fight. On the flip side, Ali may well get caught often enough in the mid rounds to take enough out of him so he hangs on for the last couple of rounds, and gets out worked by Mike, giving Tyson a S/D.
He was great at absorbing the "Mac truck going at 50 MPH" type punishment, guys like Foreman and Lyle. Not as great at the "Volkswagen going 100 MPH" damage from guys like Cooper, Frazier, and Mike Tyson.
