    Appreciation Thread
Steve Cunningham the 6'3 38 year old Cruiser/Heavyweight who served in the Navy, has never gotten the appreciation he deserves, while many look at him as a journeyman or a gatekeeper, but he's far from it, he has never been completely outclassed, he's always game even when far too small to compete with a monster like Tyson Fury, he looked good early on, until the constant weight of Fury hanging on him wore him out. He lost 2 SD to Adamek in his prime, one of which he was dropped 3 times and still got a SD.
He lost a SD but won a MD against Wlodarczyk, he KO'd a young upstart named Marco Huck. He SD Guillermo Jones, and lost 2 against Yoan Pablo Hernandez.
This year he won in a FOTY candidate against monster puncher Amir Mansour, Steve was dropped brutally twice, but still won the fight.

No matter how many times he goes down, he gets back up and gives it his all like a Real American Hero, and he's deserves far more respect than he often receives. His daughters story is truly moving even to an a-hole like me. Do some research.
So check out USS Cunningham and make up your own mind, but I choose to Salute Him.:patriot:patriot:patriot:patriot

Ive been trying to tell a lot of these idiots that Cunningham is a top 10 HW. He beat Adamek at HW a top 10 Hw but was robbed. He just beat a 240 lbs Undeafeted big puncher American Amir Mansour. They would rather diss Steve then have to give Tyson Fury credit

Most "fans" on this forum are so obsessed with tearing down fighters they don't like, several truly talented boxers like Steve get lost along the way, they're expendable collateral damage, in their mission to push whatever agenda they have.:-(

Correct. I'd say Cunningham is quite underrated.

Massive props to the guy. I've always been a fan.

Was a very good cruiserweight. Faced many/most/all of the top names in the era at CW's.

I still say the first YPH fight was pretty damn bogus for him to lose his title.

I agree on the YPH fight and the second Adamek fight was BS as well.

    Why not?
The guys an undefeated young fighter.

I think Cunningham is essentially wasting his time at HW.

He can beat a lot of the fringe contenders, but hes always going to come up short against the 6'5+ 240lbs+ guys at the top of the division.

Even though Haye is the same size as him, Haye does have legitimate HW power, Steve doesnt.

He didn't have the greatest whiskers or a very heavy punch, so it is pretty damn impressive he was able to do what he did.

I had Cunningham 114-112 Adamek
Well i did not score every one of those knockdown round 10-8. You should not be given the round just because you score a knockwon. :bart

    Great fight btw.

    This.

Well said. No real destructive power and his punch resistance wasn't great either.
