You're not factoring in home advantage here. If it's very close, the home fighter often gets the decision.

That is the main reason why I wouldn't have been too disappointed had this fight taken place outside of the UK.

That's fair, but for balance (as I kind of know some don't agree with the 1M figure) I actually included Warren's claim of 500,000 for Fury v Chisora (which is also very questionable). Personally, I suspect 300,000 which Hearn spoke of is far more likely given how unhappy people were about that fight even being made.

So it's swings and roundabout really.

Regarding non-UK opponents, as we are basically comparing Usyk with Fury, in the context of the UK, I'm not sure going back to look at his non-UK opponent numbers as a comparative measure would tell us much. Because let's face it when Fury fought Schwartz and Wallin he too did terrible numbers.

Fury looks in decent shape. That can't please people here, he's meant to be a ballooned drunken mess by now. Surely there's still time for him to have another breakdown, few pints and lines, a fat kebab and then back out.
Cross your fingers and toes Usyk fans.

After telling us how big and what an amazing event and fight this is going to be and how it's going to break records at Wembley which obviously has a lot to do with Usyk too, and after previously saying the fight will be easy to make and that the split would be 50-50, watch Big Frank squirm and how uncomfortable he looks all throughout the segment where they discuss the split.

He knows that Usyk not only brings three belts to the table, is a former undisputed CW champion and the current P4P#1, but that he has paid his dues and that he's taken every step to raise his profile over here by fighting AJ, Bellew, and Chisora in their backyard where everything was against him and he has conducted himself with nothing but class during his time over here too, even after AJ had a massive meltdown and threw his belts out the ring and behaved despicably towards him he still did.

Even worse, supposed Christian Belly is low-balling his brother in Christ Usyk at a time when the later's country is at war, when there's no option for the fight to be staged over there, when many of his countrymen are unable to travel, and he knows damn well that Usyk is going to be donating a huge lump of his purse to helping the victims of the war and the more he earns the more he donates. All this from someone who supposedly couldn't care less about money. What a scumbag thing to do, even more so to one of the nicest, most humble fighters to ever don a pair of gloves. Big Frank knows damn well Belly is bang out of order here but he won't or can't admit it.

Big Frank also keeps banging on about how much credit Belly deserves for taking this fight and how we should respect him for doing so. The only reason this fight is happening is because Usyk literally bent over backwards to make it happen and if he didn't we wouldn't be seeing it.

Usyk made it happen and Belly did everything he could to ensure it didn't but he deserves respect for that?! For taking on a fighter half his size, who is way more decorated and accomplished than him, in his backyard where everything will be stacked in his favour and he will be allowed to cheat to his heart's content and even if Usyk does do enough to win there's a high chance he'll get robbed, and for a completely unfair 70/30 split in his favour with no rematch clause in place, ie. so Usyk won't be able to secure the fair split he deserves in the biggest fight of his life and Belly gets away scott-free if the judges or ref do rob Usyk. GTFOH.

Remember how the Belly fans were saying Usyk should just accept the unfair split in order to secure a much larger one in the rematch? Yeah I do too.

Its go time.. biggest fight in boxing, not been hyped for a fight like this in years.. let's just hope no injuries postpone it, the decision is fair & may the best man win. Pulling for & picking Fury.. tho he's made it difficult for ppl to do so lately .. but I wouldn't be gutted if the Ukrainian wins, fan of both.

On the southpaw switching point, it's not just that Fury can switch hit; he also has a better/more intimate knowledge of the strengths and weaknesses of the southpaw stance than any other non-southpaw heavyweight.

I don't think the Bellew performance was bad at all; Usyk was making Bellew work very hard for minimal success (how many significant shots did Bellew land?) before sparking him in 8. Usyk never stopped any of his bigger cruiser names faster or more brutally than he did Bellew.

Perhaps Usyk wasn't fully mentally prepared for such a hard fight with Chisora, who was very well prepared (2/3 of his previous opponents were southpaws) and underestimated (as usual) going in. Perhaps Usyk also had a sub-par training camp or whatever. And the scores were closer than they should have been. But I don't believe that Usyk was playing possum, or that the fight was a total aberration.

I thought Usyk was excellent against Bellew.

A lot of revisionists have tried to make out that Bellew was winning but it you watch it back, Usyk was fighting in second gear for the first few rounds, then he stepped it up and dismantled Bellew in 3 rounds.

Agree its getting tiring but they are right. If Usyk has been in a full camp already, then Fury moving the date out will play havoc with Usyk's conditioning. Overtraining is a thing and growing mentally stale is a thing. Meanwhile Fury has had everything his way up till now. If he wants the money, then he needs to stick to the freaking date. I'm guessing he will "pull a muscle" in camp and try to move or even cancel the fight. Same as he did with Wlad.

There is Fury's excuse to get out of this fight and blame it on Usyk.
