Usyk accepts 70/30 deal, the fight is on!

Warren is Fury's promoter so he will present any Fury fights as "big news". "Big news, Fury fans, the Gypsy King returns to the ring blah blah". And again: Waren has been talking about an "imminent announcement" since December.

WBC moving the deadline means nothing. WBC has nothing to do with Usyk, only Fury. So neither of your points proves anything other than what I already stated: Fury will fight in April. Just not against Usyk.

 

Imagine selling tickets less than 6 weeks out from a global sporting event.

At this rate only caravan owners will have bed and board in London...

Fury filming promo footage - this is all incredibly promising. There could be a lot of disappointed posters!

 

That’s what promoters do. Remember when a few years ago Hearn made a post about "huge news, this is what all of you boxing fans have been waiting for" or something, in the middle of Fury and Joshua talks?

And it was about some **** regarding the DAZN app. Talk about weird announcements in the current context.

 

To me, this doesn’t mean anything. Promotional stuff were made, even tickets were being sold for Klitschko-Fury II.

We all know what happened. Fury has a long history in pulling out of or otherwise ducking fights.

It seems that you have great trust in Fury. I don’t find that a wise thing when it’s a Fury bout against someone who can dangerous to him. Until I see him touching gloves with Usyk before the first round on the 29th of April, I will stay absolutely convinced that he would never face Usyk. Not now, not in the summer, not late 2023, not next year - never.

If he wanted to face Usyk, he would already have. Same with Joshua. If the fight doesn’t happen on the 29th of April, it was never meant to happen by Fury and it will never happen at any point.

 

Personally, I think the fight is happening. Thankfully!

It's a case of the boy who cried wolf. Fury can't really get away with saying he's not ready, as the only reason some gave him a pass on Chisora 3 was they saw it as a tune up for this fight. So that excuse is out the window. And after faking COVID to push back the Wilder 3 fight he can't exactly postpone with injury (whether true or not).

So, I am cautiously optimistic that the fight happens on April 29th. Though it is all ridiculously last minute for a fight of this magnitude.

 

Wilder epitomised someone ‘dangerous’ to Fury, especially that first fight. The comeback could’ve been over that night. And yes I think I clearly have a lot more trust in Fury than you do. I think it’s on, Fury’s camp is underway - even his masseuse is there.

 

From what I understand, the Saudi money is linked to promotion for the individual stadia- as in that's where the budget comes from.

 

This could all just be Fury using the hype for this fight to help sell tickets for Fury vs Wilder 4.

The first Wilder fight was, just like the Klitschko fight, out of sheer necessity for Fury. The only two times when he took risks were because he had to take them in order to have his career going.

For the Klitschko fight, he was sitting at twenty-something fights in his late twenties, fighting almost exclusively at home. He was such an unknown name that the bout sold barely over 500k on PPV. He simply couldn’t afford not to take the Klitschko fight if he was going anywhere with his career.

The first Wilder fight was, once again, pure necessity. He was just returning from a two year ban. He had to rebuild his career and brand. Once again, he could not afford not to take that fight - and remember, he took it instead of facing Joshua. Even then he went for the smaller risk. And also remember how he did everything he could to get out of subsequent Wilder fights.

So Fury is the most cowardly, dishonest and disgraceful HW champion by far in the history of the sport. He absolutely goes the “most money, least risk” way. There’s nothing wrong with that in itself of course. What’s wrong is that he markets himself as a warrior who takes on everyone as well as a people’s champion who drives a Volkswagen and couldn’t care less about money. He is selling this idea that he is up there with the Alis and the Lewises and yet he voluntarily defends his WBC strap against an almost 40, 12 losses opponent whom he’d beaten twice some ten or so years earlier.
