Usyk has no fear getting betrayed anywhere as he is winning rounds clearly. It's almost impossible to rob a guy like Usyk on the cards especially vs one dimensional boxers like Gassiev, Bellew ....
Both want it and neither guy is greedy. And then there is Eddie who would love to get Usyk on his platform. Especially now that Usyk is moving up in weight.
A good example (let's hope the fight happens ) that when two boxers really want to fight each other, it's not that hard to get done.
Weren't half the people on here talking **** when it was Ward moving up to fight Bellew? Either way this is a good fight for Usyk to stick his toe in the water at heavyweight, and the money shouldn't be bad.
Well, since I'm pretty sure Usyk will get the KO, I'm not all that worried about a robbery, but.... it wouldn't shock me. Usyk definitely needs to keep that in mind, and step on the damned gas and force a stoppage.
The fight is going to be at cruiserweight. Bellew said he wants to fight for all the belts so no point fighting at HW. Hearn said: "Bellew called me 20 minutes after [Usyk's] fight and said: 'I'll knock him out'. "I told Usyk's team that a fight would have to be [at heavyweight] because that's where Tony is now, and he feels good. "Tony told me: 'I want to fight him at cruiserweight because I want all the belts'. "If he's going into a fight as risky as Usyk, he wants the biggest reward possible which is to be the undisputed cruiserweight world champion. "People believe Usyk is pound-for-pound No1, certainly in the top three. So if Bellew beats him, what does that make Bellew? That's the madness of this.
Usyk will obviously be the high favorite but don't sleep on bellew, Hes undefeated at crusierweight, he has nowhere near the skills of usyk but he has power and very good timing . Dare i say similar to mikey garcia in the sense he does nothing great but his fundamentals and his strengths he does very well. hes been active and hes in the form of his life. Its a great fight.
Good fight, perfect for Usyk to build his fan base against a high profile Brit in the most vibrant boxing market right now. Also I assume this fight will be very lucrative for Usyk, he has the belts and can expect to get the lions share of at the very least an equal share. Things seem to be moving quickly, no BS about where the fight is or who get's paid what, hopefully it gets confirmed soon. While I no doubt fully expect Usyk to win and to win in style, Bellew I'm sure will give it his all and will go out on his shield. You have to admire Bellew he doesn't lack heart or ambition. Will be interesting to see if Bellew's mind games can fluster Usyk like they did with Haye. I expect not, Usyk seems mentally rock solid.
Its a great fight, not a Bellew fan but I do hope he puts on a good show & gives it his all. I think Usyk will frustrate the hell outa of him.
I think he'll be fine in terms of getting the deserved W, although the cards will be too close. Hearn has no reason to want Bellew to win, Bellew probably retires afterwards anyway. While if built up properly, Usyk could be useful for Hearn: - he could one day be another big-fight option for Joshua, Joshua has already stated that he wants the fight; in addition a close UD loss to Usyk would not be half as damaging as getting KO'ed by Wilder. - Hearn has a good relationship with K2, he wants Usyk for DAZN; it's no secret that Hearn is struggling to find stars for DAZN and Usyk could help there. - If Usyk signs with DAZN, Hearn may even be able to use Usyk to school any dangerous, wild punchers coming for Joshua.
