Incase anyone’s failed to notice, Usyk has had his fight date set for MONTHS. Eddie Hearn has said all along that it would be May 18th in the US, most likely Chicago, long before Donkey Wilder announced his latest duck. So if anyone’s chosen to sabotage DAZN’s / Eddie Hearns plans it’s Wilder’s lot, not the other way around - Why does this not surprise me? Wilder/Breazeale will probably get more casuals watching, but I’d imagine the more hardcore fan will be far more interested to see how a man blessed with actual boxing talent does on his debut in the HW division. That said, I think more people, certainly in the UK, will be more interested in the Usyk fight just because he made a bit of a name for himself over here - Wilder, on the other hand, failed to impress v Fury after all the hype, so it’s hard for anyone to really get that excited about him, truth be told.
