I don't think he is the GOAT He doesn't have the professional longevity or imo the opponents. However, he has fought EVERYONE amd many times on other fighters terms He is a winner through and through and deserves to be mentioned along with Ali, Greb, Louis, Armstrong, Duran, Mayweather etc. I rewatched the fight without distractions and noticed many shots not landing clean on usyk. His defence was better than last time, much better 9-3 to usyk and although rounds looked closer, Usyk was never in trouble of losing them and won this fight easier than last time I wrongly accused @Serge for being out to get me. When I'm wrong, I will say as much. I'm not leaving the forum, but I do intend to cut out some trolling and engage more with classical debates and younger fighters Usyk deserves all praise, it was never him I had an issue with. I just think despite Fury being a tool outside of the ring, he was getting too underrated for what he has done in it. He still put up a valiant effort and there is no shame to lose to a better man
Good man FTR, despite the things he's done to turn me off him and I'm a loyal kind of guy and it takes a lot, and I really did used to be a big fan of his, Belly is an excellent fighter and brilliant boxer and despite his physique he's also a very naturally gifted one.
It's my loyalty that has kept me a fan and it was the extreme hatred that wanted me to see usyk fail, which was wrong I have no problem with anyone calling him GOAT. He's done things others haven't and he's a winner He was amazing again last night Anyway, my apologies for the trolling, I plan to engage more in actual boxing debate now. Usyk has buried the era
Loyalty is virtuous. I wouldn't consider myself a Belly hater. It's the way he treated Uysk (which really annoyed me a great deal due to my loyalty and respect for Usyk) and that's what turned me off him. I used to really like him and find him very entertaining and a great character. I'm just having fun when I call him the GOAT but, that being said. I do think, given everything he's achieved and especially the way he's done it, has certified him as a GOAT now. He's a very special and rare breed of fighter and man and we are lucky to have him and he's certainly the greatest fighter of his generation now IMO No worries it's all good
I was just having fun saying he isn't GOAT The truth of the matter is, there is no GOAT Every generation is different and the sport has evolved. All we can say is that Usyk has proved he is the greatest of his time and it's impossible to prove he's greater than other times. But he is very unique and equal to Ali imo I never knew his sons train judo, which is my current love Anyway have a good Christmas man, sincerely
I'm not willing to concede that, but I'm not saying he isn't Worthy debate for sure and he ranks higher p4p
That's why I say there are many GOATs Exactly I didn't actually know that myself until he mentioned it yesterday. As the CEO of the Holy Church of Usyk co I really should've known that. Great martial art/sport to get into for kids. You too. Have a good one
Usyk is better than Lennox Lewis and Evander Holyfield Lewis was as heavy and clunky as an oak log. Usyk would beat him easily, no contest.
Curious to hear what/how boxing historians rank Usyk. Usyk at this point has blown boxing to shreds. Cleaned out 2 divisions in the most noble and honest way, fighting and beating the right guys, no question left, the only little whisper is Wilder, but that's a non topic, Wilders latest losses put him a couple of standard deviations away from contention. The work has been done Usyk, truly a great great boxer, and I'm grateful to be a witness to the greatest boxing being/entity (boxer doesnt feel quite right) of my time. -P
When people say Usyk hasn't done enough historically you sometimes just have to scratch the surface and see how much he has done at this current time For example Usyk and the current boxrec top 20 HWs I know ratings change and aren't an accurate picture but they do often give an indication of how dominant a fighter can be Considering Usyk hasn't been a HW his whole career and looking at the current boxrec top 20 HWs (Usyk rated #1) and see during this time how he compared with some of the other top HWs and who he had beaten. Yes I know 2 of the wins weren't at HW but was looking at current opponents faced Usyk - Has wins over 6 opponents in the current top 20 4 in the top 10 - Dubois #2 - Joshua #4 - Fury #6 - Hunter #10 - Gassiev #15 - Chisora #17 Dubois has a win over 1 opponent in the current 20 1 in the top 10 - Joshua #4 Fury has wins over 3 opponents in the current 20 - Wallin #12 - Whyte #14 - Chisora #17 Joshua has wins over 4 opponents in the current 20 1 in the top 10 - Parker #7 - Wallin #12 - Whyte #14 - Pulev #18 Parker has wins over 2 opponents in the current 20 1 in the top 10 - Zhang #10 - Chisora #17
