It's morbidly fascinating—to observe how media around the world relentlessly try to rip Usyk apart, with Fury joining in to the parade of wolves. Such a quiet thing to fall, and to fall based on a lie nonetheless. Everytime I leave the 1900—1990 bubble of boxing and enter the globalized, strap era I fall out of love with the sport a tad.

what are you saying? if he just received a gift from his personal referee in the fight with dubois... you know well that usyk has privileges for being used politically in the war in ukraine that the united states supports

It was a low blow as all of it was on the trunks and some below the beltline. Anyone can make the "trunks were high" argument, but the ref didn't see it that way.

I am actually not mad at those who are honestly taking the opposite side, because it absolutely is the sort of thing another ref might have let go. But the haters are out in full force, and they can **** off.

Low blows are only allowed in America. Americans confused when illegal blows are ruled illegal.

    1) Rulebooks say low blow starts below the navel. Unless the belt is pulled higher and the referee signals its okay to hit there, Dubois was not hitting legal areas. We have countless replays to confirm it.
    2) Per team Usyk they were instructed exactly as such in the locker room. The very same night during the Anderson-Rudenko fight, the referee states the belt area is considered a low blow.
    3) Projecting political agenda is cute, but it didn't stop Czerkaszyn from having his 0 taken, and Mytrofanov from being put in the ring with a 191cm Hamzah Sheeraz like a lamb for slaughter. Slava Ukraine.
    4) Not getting into Chisora's comments because I don't fancy another ban.

A low blow is defined as any blow that lands below the waist line. The waist line begins just below the last rib and just above the naval. Look at the shot again and ask yourself does the blow land above the naval.

Selling a low blow even if not actually hit in the balls (not saying Usyk did this, as I can’t know what he felt) is not cheating; there is no rule against it. Some people would even call it crafty. Also, you can’t just assume he wouldn’t have beaten the count if the referee did rule it a knockdown. He has no motivation to get up quickly, and it may be to his advantage to get some extra rest out of it, if the ref does rule it a low blow.

If people actually knew the sport of boxing they know this is called excellent body work. These are perfect placements, obviously above his belly button... anyways this is called imploying good bodypunching, for those of you new to boxing.

Photos are deceiving. Watching is much more revealing. From watching, it looks legal to me.
