    :clap::clap::clap::clap:

Great post and on the button.

Lerena could have been fighting Usyk if it hadn't been for ACTUAL corruption in Dubois' favour. He and his team need to STFU :azote:

John Ruiz milking a punch on the waistband. That's who you want to be compared to.

Usyk better figure out a new shtick or wind up his career very quickly. Because everyone and his brother are going to digging hooks to the body from now on.

I will…it’s how I pay for goods and services.

Enjoy your life living in your parents basement. Don’t forget to wipe the spunk off your Fury posters once in a while.

Thanks. Yes, the irony of them of all people crying about ''corruption'' couldn't be anymore priceless. You don't even have to go back far to find it as it was on full display in his previous fight

It doesn't have to be the balls to be an illegal low blow. Anywhere below the navel. It really shouldn't be that hard for people to understand.

The Dubois shot landed square below the navel. It really isn't difficult to understand.

The navel was covered by the beltline the entire fight.

While I disagree with OP, that post was not a bad one. An interesting perspective.

Ref can say whatever he wants but in practice referees allow shots to the beltline consistently.

They're all subjective, moment-in-time decisions. People can debate the low blow part and it will fall on either side, fine. The part that isn't debatable is that Usyk was then able to KO Dubois a few rounds later, and Dubois fell apart mentally after that happened, he even admitted it. Great fighters don't do that. They use these things as motivation. If Dubois thought he was robbed at that moment, that should have motivated him, but instead he wilted. This fight proved Dubois has neither the mental nor physical ability to be a great heavyweight, so he's not even really worthy of discussion.

This shot was lower than Dubois', literally 1/4on the beltstrap, 3/4 on his ****.

Right. I wish I could find the video of the marketing guy blasting the fellow in the bladder protector with a ball bat, to show how ludicrous all that acting was by Usyk.

Boxing goes through periods where fighters try to feign low blows to get out of a fight or buy time.

Since you often can't see a fighters belly button during a fight, for many years the common practice was that punches to the waistband of the trunks is normally considered a shot to the BELTLINE... because that's where a BELT would go if you needed a belt for your boxing trunks ... ON THE WAISTBAND.

(Some fighters pull the waistband of their trunks OVER THE TOP of the protector so the waistband is just on their skin. Refs will usually comment on that and say their trunks are too high.)

If you were wearing pants and a belt, the BELT WOULD NOT be ABOVE your pants. It would go through the belt loops on your pants. And that's what the waist band on trunks are - the BELTLINE.

The general rule is, with the fellows in the photo below, if you punched them in the waitstband - with Wilder, that's the grey part above the red - with Fury, it's where his name is printed - it's legal. And if you punch them in the trunks below the waistband (beltline), that's a low blow.

    This content is protected

That's why people were saying he hit him on the beltline. The beltline is usually the waistband.

That's what was so terrible about Ward hitting Kovalev. Here's a photo of the printing on Kovalev's trunks.

    https://cdn.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/Oha...image/image/55316409/697115608.1497758719.jpg

Ward's "KO" punches were right to the letter "B" on Kovalev's crotch. Nothing pissed me off more in recent decades than Ward getting credit for that stoppage, when it was so blatantly low. And people here and elsewhere just laughed it off.

Like all of boxing, there's no consistency to the rule of what is a low blow and what isn't. It changes from ref to ref. The beltine (the waistband) always seemed normal to most fighters because they are protected there. It's designed to protect the bladder.

    Regardless, Dubois sucks. Good riddance.

Let's move on. Or are people going to be talking about low blows until Usyk fights again a year from now?
