This fight should have been announced months ago. Im starting to lose hope in what would have be the biggest fight of the era.
Usyk wants it, 100%, it's all about his legacy and fighting the very best. He wants that two weight undisputed opportunity. I'm not sure Fury does, I'm not saying Fury is frightened or doesn't believe he will win but there are "easier" nights out there for Fury and for probably more money. I'm not sure the undisputed means that much to Fury, he has had his hands on every belt, Fury is in a no win situation with Usyk to be fair, if he beats him everybody (casuals) says "blown up cruiserweight" and if he loses "you lost to blown up crusierweight". I'm not saying it won't happen, I really hope it does, but I'm not sure Fury is feeling it, there is nothing really getting Fury up for this, there is no bitter rivalry or beef, obviously Usyk isn't a mandatory.. Furys "why" and "reason why" might not be enough for him to be pushing hard for this one.
Fury will never win a contest of public opinion of who is the better fighter. Everybody already knows Usyk is better p4p.
Parker would never fight Fury, and if he did it'd be a glorified sparring session between friends. Give me Fury v Usyk and Parker vs Wilder.
If he really wants it he should accept the 40% offer instead of stubbornly holding out for a couple extra million. Fury doesn’t care, he’s stated many times he isn’t concerned about his boxing legacy.
It’s quite baffling how neither seem to realise how much more they will make from being undisputed champion in their next fight and for the rest of their lives with media and after dinner talks etc. The 10% less for Fury or 10% more for Usyk is going to be swamped by future earnings. I am not convinced Fury really wants the fight. Frank Warren seems to have other plans with Joyce.
Bollocks. Fury also stated constantly how he didn’t care about money - and it was apparent from the ‘half a billy’ thing and how he walked away from eighty million offered by the Saudis a week or so ago, right? It’s astonishing how Fury apologists can’t comprehend that for Usyk it’s not about the money per se but the principle. If he accepts less than 50 per cent (while holding three belts as the reigning unified HW champion of the world and having to fight in his opponents back yard), he sends the message that he is inferior in this bout to Fury. He couldn’t care less for Fury’s trash talking but by accepting anything less than 50 per cent it would give Fury the psychological edge - as if he needed it while fighting in his home country. Whether it’s 100 million or 100 thousand this fight generates, Usyk doesn’t care. He cares about not presenting himself as the pushover who can be dragged away from the Saudi deal, and made fight for the smaller percentage of the purse in his opponent’s backyard.
And likewise Fury....accept 50% of a large sum to get the fight on!! If the fight doesnt happen then the slice Fury currently wants becomes 60% of zilch
Fury doesn't need anything. Saudi's didn;t oiffer him record money so he walked away Usyk won't accept 60:40 UK split and won't re-negotiate Fury doesn't give a damn he knows what he wants and won't budge.
Fury is probably praying every night for this fight to happen. He will get at least £ 50M, whether it is 50-50 split or 60-40. Saudis have an ocean of oil under the ground. Paying £ 150M to Usyk & Fury is nothing for them.
