It would prove nothing. This is as comprehensive a victory as ever. No defences are needed. Let him move up and make some big money. The big boys at HW would be out of breath after 5 rounds.
Gassiev carries more power than Toni BLAHBLA and will go home with 0 rounds and his head jabbed off by Usyk.
Although not his promoter, maybe Eddie could do a Bellew > Whyte > Joshua route for Usyk like he was prepared to offer Fury. Would think he’d be all over it for DAZN too.
Usyk needs maximum ranking points and based on that alone he should target either Ortiz or the winner of Parker/Whyte. This sets him up for a fight against AJ or Wilder in 2 fights maximum.
By the way, Usyk's contract with К2 Promotions is rather temporary. Or "long term temporary", if it makes any sense. I remember Egis Klimas say a couple of years ago (when Usyk was unable to sign with a good promoter and was getting only cheap slavish deals) that he recommended him to return to Ukraine, box from there, build his popularity first and only then come back to America. I guess now might be the time. I won't be surprise if Hearn signs Usyk. It might be a deal similar to Golovkin's one, who is a K2 boxer, formally.
Agreed makes so much sense I'm surprised I didn't think about it. 1 - He's a former cruiser weight so will be a nice easy introduction to the higher weight to see how Usyk copes with the extra body weight but without having to face someone who is a genuine heavyweight. 2 - Bellew is promoted by Hearn and it would be good to do business with him because eventually he'll want a shot at the divisions cash cow Joshua and building a working relationship first makes sense. 3 - Bellew is ranked 5th by the WBC, if Wilder beats Breazeale, Joshua beats Povetkin and if he beats Bellew he could end up 3rd ranked heavyweight by the WBC. Which means if Whyte beats Parker and eliminator between him and Whyte might be on the cards, especially if he signs a deal with Hearn. Winner could fight Wilder if Usyk wants to go that route first before going for Joshua for all the belts. 4 - Financially it makes sense. Bellew/Haye made good money, Usyk/Bellew could be a pretty lucrative fight in the UK.
