Fair, maybe he means HW, maybe overall?
Maybe he was hurt more in the Fury fight, that's why he thinks it was tougher?

He face showed a lot of damage. I might rewatch the Breidis fight again. I watched the highlights a few days ago, but the full fight paints an accurate picture

I believe Fury pushed him harder than Aj

They are trying to twist their gods words to make Fury look bad. :zpong:

AJ fanboys are new Usyk fanboys. Hate on Fury is typical for them.

You are right, they are more enjoying on hating, than loving someone.

    Double standards are killing everything.

Honestly the agenda some people have is verging on deranged. It was a fantastic fight. Competitive throughout with a clear winner. As a boxing fan I loved it.

It was significantly more entertaining as a contest than any of Usyks other fights at Heavyweight.

Stop coping FFS. Calling professional fighters cowards when you're a fat nobody sat in your mother's basement.

Usyk said Fury was his toughest fight and said that uppercut Fury landed really hurt him badly. Deal with it. Stop trying to strip credit from these fighters.

I agree, Fury was more successful and hurt him more than Joshua. There were two uppercuts where Usyk visibly went "s..t, I felt that" and took a step back. He never did that after anything AJ landed on him.

It really could be an English or an unclear context issue. Which division he meant? Did he mean physically, mentally toughest? Briedis never hurt him like Fury hurt him but won more rounds and the fight was closer. If Usyk meant 'the most I felt damn, that hurts' in a fight then it's definitely Fury, yes.

I saw that uppercut that Fury landed on Usyk and was amazing how he took it and recovered so quickly.
That and other punches were surely on his mind when he was asked the question. Maybe earlier in his career
someone hit him harder but that uppercut is still in the front of his mind.

Well he said that Chisora hit him harder but Fury was his hardest fight because he was legitimately confused in rounds 4-6 and looked like he had no way to close the gaps at all. Then he figures it out in r7/8 but I don't think he's had to solve such a hard puzzle in the Briedis/AJ fights for example which was mostly sticking to the gameplan.

Fury looked great in those rounds and Usyk was definitely confused or trying to figure out a defense. Luckily for the boxing world, and the entire planet, he figure it out.

I reply this under the assumption that I am actually dealing with an intelligent adult here. It's best not to bring the conversation down to that level simply because you can't possibly know what goes on in someone's life. You are a Fury fan, and Fury is supposed to be an advocate for mental health. You can't possibly know whether a person you address this way struggles with illness-related weight issues or if their parents are alive or whatever.

Not that it matters, but being well over 40, no, I haven't lived under the same roof as my mother for about 25 years. I don't even live in the same country as her, so I don't get to see her as much as I'd like to, sadly. This 'living in your parents' basement' idea is typically a US phenomenon, and I didn't grow up in that part of the world. I only knew from movies that this was even a thing. And I'm fortunate enough that I never had weight issues either.

The point is, I guess, there's no need for attempts at personal insults. If there is one thing I respected in Fury, it was when he said you could never know what demons others battle with on a daily basis so try to be kind when you talk to others. Fury won't know that some random Joe, good ol' me, called him a coward. Nor would or should he care. But if you attack another member with personal stuff like that, you can never know if you push them over some edge. Once again, I trust in your intellect that you won't just come back with some internet tough guy reply or something as I wrote this in good faith.

To start with it is laughable to say that you always should take a fighter's word at face value. Their appraisals of opponents are more often than not heavily influenced by ego and they will often give credit to fighters they dominated and withhold it for those that bested them. Pac naming Margarito as his hardest fight is just one of many examples of this.

In this case I have no reason to question it, though. Yeah, he has an incentive to sell the rematch, but Fury really gave him a tough time in rds 4-6 and I don't think I've seen Usyk having so much adversity for several rds in a row. So it sounds about right to me.

If the implied meaning by Fury fan boys is that this proves that Fury did better than anyone else against Usyk, they're of course conveniently leaving out that neither Briedis or Joshua was in such a desperate situation as Fury was in the 9th and neither needed a ref's intervention in order to hear the final bell. But Fury fans are on the other hand really coping now, so no surprises there.

it makes perfect sense the way i see it. what other fighter has usyk needed to chase down? first fight hes had to punch his way in past a 7" reach advantage. aj didn't give him the ring the way tyson did. And he didn't give aj the free shots he gave fury. only thing that didnt go according to plan, and why it got a little difficult, is because fury found little holes in the static cover up defense he couldnt afford to give aj.

Just rewatched a bit of the fight again and there is so much skill level on display by both men.
