I agree he should retire, but Wilder lost every round against Parker what was controversial about it?

As to other motives, I assume he donates money to his country - correct? If correct, that could see him want to take in more money that he personally needs.

Ali is absolutely one of the greatest of all time but his career trajectory and health after retirement speaks clearly to erroring on the side of an early retirement.

Now would be a good time for Usyk to retire. There is now a very serious debate as to
who is the greatest cruiserweight in history--- Usyk or Holyfield.Plus Usyk has also a
great heavyweight legacy. To put him him in the all-time top 10 heavyweight ATGs would
    not be unreasonable.

His money is a drop in the ocean compared to the billions they get from the west.

Let's hope the champ isn't forced to fight on because of finances.

Usyk comparatively hasn't taken anywhere near as much damage as Ali, nor would he given his style.

In fairness, Ali had truly ****, **** luck. George Foreman, Bernard Hopkins, Evander Holyfield, Larry Holmes all fought on until ~50 and all seem pretty much fine.

Usyk doesn’t seem to get hit all that much. I’m not saying he should fought until he’s 50, but I don’t see much of an issue with fighting the winner of Dubois-Parker to become undisputed again, then maybe fighting the winner of Kabayel-Zhang as a defense.

He can probably get away with another 2-3 before retiring. His style doesn’t seem suited to a senior career anyway, and I’m sure he knows that, so I wouldn’t expect him to try to fight another 10 years.

Fighters shouldn’t retire at their peak. That’s pu55y games.

he should reign as king like every other champ has to.

Imo he is the best cruiser ever, narrowly beating Holyfield . But I consider Holyfield the better hw as he had a full career there.

I’m personally not keen on quick “snatch” legacies. Beat the right person and become a legend…it’s better to have longevity and fight several styles in the division to show adaptability in a champion. I’m sure usyk has it, but he must show it.

It’s interesting (ironic?) that in retrospective address, fans understand and appreciate instances when a boxer fought on for too long….

….but, in real time? - there’s that contingent of fans who somehow don’t get it and insist that a boxer keep going - the boxer’s only exit plan being to go out on his shield.

Such an unrealistic, armchair expert view point.

    I think he’ll fight a few more

but this would be a perfect time to call it a career

He had an absolutely impeccable career, start to finish

He’ll obviously go down as one of the greatest of all time
