"his best wins are a guy who got knocked out by Andy Ruiz and lost to an MMA novice." Oh you mean he's beaten AJ and Fury? The top 2 heavyweights on the planet not named Usyk? Wow what an awful resume.

I never said it was awful, they're clearly good wins, but HW is a weak division and context is key. I actually rate the Joshua win over the Fury win because of how Fury has looked as of late. If it was awful I wouldn't have him as p4p #1, that being said saying he's "far" greater is hyperbolic.

The smaller guys do funny things in the contracts (Rehydration clauses) or big guys (Haney for example) boiling themselves down to gain the advantage over smaller guys while Usyk is fighting guys 40 pounds heavier and winning on points which is impressive.

It really comes down to who's last performance was more impressive, Canelo's wide UD over 43-0 Munguia or Usyk's narrow SD over 34-0-1 Fury.

Munguia was prime, undefeated, undrawn and had never been knocked down in his entire career. Canelo dropped him clean with a devastating uppercut en route to a comfortable UD.

Fury on the other hand, is clearly past his prime, as evidenced by his lackluster performance against Ngannou, which resulted in a decision that many felt he lost. Fury also suffered an injury that postponed the original date. Fury, unlike Munguia who had never been down in his entire career, has been knocked down 7 times throughout his career, and nearly stopped against Wilder.

One of those 7 career knockdowns was to an unknown Canadian fighter.

Usyk despite having Fury in all kinds of trouble in the 9th round, was having all kinds of trouble throughout the first half of the contest, and while he came on strong late, he was unable to floor Fury. Usyk deserves credit for winning in dramatic fashion, but if we're rating the ease of victory, quality of opposition and the performance itself, it's unquestionable that Canelo had a much easier time with Munguia than Usyk did with Fury.

Generally Heavyweights are not included in P4P rankings. Usyk is proving to be the exception to the rule, and I agree he deserves consideration, but if we're comparing who performed better in their recent match, the answer is clearly Canelo. Don't fret Usyk fans, if you disagree with me, then I would be interested to hear your counter argument and we can have a proper debate. I challenge Usyk fans to not be mad by what I am saying here, rather use it as an opportunity to make the case for Usyk.

Crawford is too inactive and his opposition is not comparable to the fighters Usyk and Canelo have been fighting. Inoue, great fighter, but lets face it, he hit the canvas in his last fight. Being knocked down drops Inoue down below Canelo and Usyk.

P4P means if everyone was the same size what would they rank, how do you think Usyk and Fury would have went if they both weighed the same?

    Usyk would win every round.

Who performed better in their last fight, Canelo or Usyk?

And do you agree that Bud is too inactive and Inoue should drop due to being knocked down? Defense is clearly a big part of P4P, Inoue's defense is definitely lacking compared to Canelo and Usyk. Bud is great but Canelo and Usyk have fought TWICE since Bud's last fight. In that time, Canelo beat two quality opponents with ease. Usyk was saved by the ref against Dubois and needed a miraculous comeback to beat Fury.

Clearly Canelo has been the most active consistent and impressive performer.

No. Inoue fought like a moron in the first round and left himself open because he didn’t respect Nery. He barely got hit after. Bud has been inactive but Spence win is still levels above the crude Munguia who went life death with an old Derv.

    Usyk
    Inoue
    Bivol/Beterbiev winner
    Crawford

Fighting for the top 3, though idk if anyone can knock Usyk outta that spot.

Canelo got hit more against Munguia than Inoue did against Nery and has clearly regressed. Historically Canelo > Inoue and Crawford, but he’s not at his peak anymore.

    I will consider your points.

But can you answer this question :

Who performed better in their last fight, Canelo or Usyk?

I'm not asking about expectations, I'm asking who actually performed better on the night. Canelo had a clean knockdown against a fighter who had never been knocked down, Usyk couldn't drop a fighter who had already been knocked down 7 times in his career, and was coming off a lackluster performance.

No, Fury never hit the canvas. He was given a standing 8 count. Canelo knocked Munguia down clean. Canelo beat a young, hungry prime Lion comfortably. Usyk barely beat a past prime, trainwreck of a man. :qmeparto:
