You learn all that PED cycle mumbo jumbo from following Fury? Is it true that Fury was going to change his nickname from the Gypsy King to the Boar Meat Beast?
This is lame as hell. But holy ****, Wardley is now WBO champ. From white collar boxing to legitimate world champion.
Now I'm really curious to see who Usyk's next opponent will be. I thought a fight with Wardley was likely for him (Warren seemed to be aiming for that, but I don't know about Turki Alalshikh). I hope it's not Fury again.
Yep we all know he is the man the belts don't mean anything in that regards. He can retire if he likes he has nothing else to prove or he can let everyone else fight it out for the belts and take on the winner if he so pleases.
Though people argued and argued he would, this move by Usyk suggests he was never going to fight Parker. Had no intention to. If Parker had fought an easy opponent, like he was quite entitled to, and won, it would be him getting the WBO belt delivered in the mail.
But but but ... we all know usyk newer ducks . We all know he fights anyone anywhere . He was just terribly injured . Lets go champ !
Disappointing, but let's see what comes next. If he moves on to Kayayel and circles back, there's no harm done. Hard to come up with another name as good, though. The division is pretty decimated.
Usyk is only interested in money-driven matches right now. He keeps spreading misinformation to fuel discussion and speculation, but he doesn't actually fight. He previously wanted to fight Wilder and Alex Pereira, but those plans fell through. Now, he only wants to fight Joshua and Tyson Fury. I think a fight with Jake Paul is the most likely outcome. Or he could hold onto the belt and wait until Moses Itauma's value is high enough to fight him. I really don't understand where this forum's hype for Usyk comes from. He's no different from the picky Tyson Fury. After Fighting professionally for over a decade, it's only natural to want money at this level, but he's been spreading misinformation and has only fought a few people. And now the discussion is blaming Wardley. Does Wardley not want to fight Usyk? It's ridiculous.
Good, I had no interest in seeing him fight Fabio as he wouldn't have received any credit for beating him and fighting ''another Brit'' and Fabio is a white collar boxer who is coming off B2B controversial ''Brit stoppage wins'' in fights he was losing or was getting totally outclassed in by fighters even this soon to be 39 y/o version of Usyk would've toyed with in his sleep. The same clowns who have tried to discredit his wins vs Belly, AJ, Dubois and fighting too many Brits are going to give him credit for beating Fabio who they're all much better and more proven than If Usyk does decide to continue with his career, and I have made my feelings on that abundantly clear many times (I think he has completed boxing, has nothing left to prove, and should bow out on top) he can do whatever he wants providing he drops the belts if he choses not to accommodate his mandatories. He's spent his entire career fighting in his opponents in their backyards or on the road and has often been the B-side and he has to be more smart with his decisions moving forward at his age and this stage of his career. He's been a thorn in their side for a long time and they desperately want him out of the picture but he has thwarted all their attempts to do so. They will get him eventually either via hook or crook, especially this version of him, so he has to be more judicious at this stage of his career. Also, speaking as a fan of Fabio, I'm really pleased for him that he gets to call himself a world champion now because had he challenged Usyk for his titles he would've been on the receiving end of a biblical ass whooping and may never have gone on to achieve that feat if so.
