Interesting interview with English subtitles from December 2020. I've not seen it before.

It also seems the injury that caused him to pull out initially returned 3 weeks prior to the fight.

Bad news. He may have lingering issues this time too.

    Yeah, that's what I'm thinking.
If this issue that caused him to pull out in February appeared again in October, It could easily have returned again

Arm injuries take an absolute eternity to heal.

If you get a bicep injury, you will carry that for at least 8 months. And they always come back.

Does he state what kind of injuries they were and where?

And what? Hearn dropping the AJ had Covid bombshell wasn't a preemptive excuse?

I don't speak Ukrainian/Russian but all I could gather from subtitles is that he injured his left hand in the 2nd round where he couldn't throw power shots with it and then by round 6 he said he couldn't use both of his arms and his right elbow kept locking up on most punches so he couldn't throw proper power shots with that one either. Also, the elbow issues from February returned 3 weeks before the October fight.

Yeah, those sound like injuries he could easily recover from, especially in 11 months. So I doubt it's anything to worry about.

Yeah, let's hope. He really needs to be at 100% for this one.
Haven't felt emotions like this for a fight ever since Canelo GGG 2. Lets hope Usyk doesn't get robbed the same way as Golovkin was.

Have posted many times that Usyk’s long amateur, WBS and pro career at elite level have definitely caught up. Holyfield stepped up to heavy pre prime but sadly Usyk has made the jump at the end of his career. Covid delays have also taken 1-2 years from him. Shame.

Ofc it was and Eddie does not believe in his fighters so much as he is telling.
He usually uses one sided rematch clauses for his fighters opponents even in non title fights.
Latest example was Whyte vs 40 y.o 11 month old uncle Povetkin.
Ofc It has, most mobile Usyk version was in amateurs.
If he was some U.K or US boxer, he probably had been turned into a pro before he had won Olympic gold medal.
Cos he had bronze and gold medals in World Championship, bronze ang gold in Euro championships.

In US boxer who does have fore example Golden Gloves 1 st place and Pan American Games gold medal ( approx equivalent to Euro Continental Gold or EUBC Gold medal ) not rare cases already is turned into a pro.
Not alone if the boxer does have medal in World Championship.

Holyfield had Silver in Pan Am Games and pro managers even then already had interest about him.
