And, he's not a young guy fighting old guys. I'm not an Usyk worshiper, but I don't think I could rank Rocky above Usyk at this point.

Rocky's 49-0 was not against good competition and only 5 title defenses against old guys.
Not sure where Usyk ranks as an ATG HW, but how could you have him below Rocky other than personal bias?

Rocky beat who was there, back in the day, when you were the #1 contender, you had to wipe out everyone else

You’re beating a dead horse, Rocky, for as bad as he apparently was by some clowns logic, finished 49-0

Both Marciano and Usyk have been great, exciting heavyweight fighters.

No need to for anyone disparage one or the other.

This. Both were good enough to become the undisputed heavyweight champion and beat everyone put in front them.

No matter who you got, both Rocky and Olek proved themselves to be the most respectful of HW Champions.

Assets to and terrific representatives of the sport of boxing at every level.

There would be no bull **** seen between these two at pressers, weigh in or during the actual fight…

….though, Olek might take issue with some of the Rock’s taking of “liberties” whilst in full fight/beast mode.

Usyk wouldn’t be very “feel” about that side of Rocky but still ultimately forgive him…perhaps. Lol.

It's actually crazy how their resumes match. Both beat top HWs of their era. Marciano beat Walcott and Charles twice. Usyk beat AJ, Fury and Dubois twice. Usyk has 5 title defences, Marciano has 6. All of Marciano's defences were the defences of the undisputed title tho, but Usyk ultimately became undisputed too and it is way harder to do so in the 4 belt era than it was back then.

Cause it was an easy fight nobody wanted to see at the time.

Charles, Walcott and Moore were OLD!! Where Rocky was young. It wasn't his fault that they were old, AND, it's still not great for legacy.

This being the generally accepted narrative has more to do with Marciano's positioning than anything that actually happened in either era.

Old, in caps and exclaimed. Ezzard was born in 21. Marciano in 23. LaStarza was 27. OLD. Not part of a generation nor peer. OLD. Seems fair to me. Marciano was baby busting on Roland and old man busting on Ez because to be a peer of the man you better have been born in 21. Who cares if Ezzard was 32 and Rocky was older than Danny. Who cares if Fury is 36, or Joshua is 35.

Hopefully Usyk gets to keep his wins. Marciano is a case in point, it may be just about 80 years and we see kids claiming Usyk fought old men for his biggest wins and any younger man like danny was either green or shitty anyways. Despite being replicated to this day.

Moore and Walcott were old 38 or 39 but actually I don't think Ezzatd Charles was as old as Fury. Cockell and LaStarza were younger than Marciano if I remember correct.

Charles was #1 NBA Heavy. Had recently KOd top 10 ranked Bob Satterfeld who would go on to blast out Cleveland Williams & Nino Valdes.

Walcott was #1 NBA Heavy. Had just won a close trilogy with Ezzard Charles. Who in & among was beating Maxim, Louis, Bivins etc..

Moore was #1 NBA Heavy. Who at the time was so old & shot he defeated the likes of Valdes twice, Maxim 3 times, Durelle twice , Howard King multiple times, Bobo Olson, Howard Johnson & even at 47 beat an Olympic gold medalist.

Rex Layne #2 NBA Heavy. Was 34-1-2 had wins over Satterfield & Walcott & would go on to beat Charles.

Lastarza #2 NBA Heavy. Undefeated at the time of their first fight. Best career win would be Rex Layne who was coming off a win over Charles.

Harry Matthews #7 NBA. Was on a 50 fight win streak had beaten Rex Layne.

Yes Louis was old but beating older former champions is par for the course in boxing for younger fighters.. just how old were Rahman, Sanders & Mercer when WK fought them? How old were Ali & Shavers when Holmes fought them? Holyfield & Tyson were hardly spring chickens for Lewis either...

Nothing wrong with Marcianos career.. he faced the best available opposition of that era. You can call them old but they were still good enough to beat plenty of the younger fellas.

We can do this all day.. what's Fury done in recent years.. beat Wilder? LMAO.. Whats AJ done recently? Nothing.. & Dubois keeps quitting.. what's so great?

Marciano beat 3 of the greatest fighters of all time.. i can't imagine the same will be said of those 3.

He wasn't as bad as some make out. Certainly not the worst to ever contend.
