How much would Hrgovic get paid just to be on standby? He should consider pulling out of his next fight if it's a lot.

I can't work out whether Hrgovic is going to get his chance vs Usyk or not, as @OldSchoolBoxing mentioned I could see a Fury wanting another delay for a couple of months and Usyk vs Hrgovic happening instead, and perhaps Fury vs Joshua a few months later in the summer.

My gut feeling is that Hrgovic should build his profile in March instead, or even fight the walking punching bag Miller in March and still be ready for May if needed.

Obviously waiting is a waste if Fury vs Usyk does actually happen. But even if Hrgovic gets his chance, he is quite likely to lose to Usyk - and it will be a long way back especially as he has no big-name non-controversial wins. Better to beat someone first and build his profile, if you ask me.

To be fair that's like a 50-50 chance

The aim is to make Usyk age further and get more damaged by Hrgovic, or even getting him knocked out by Hrgovic by chance.

After Usyk defeats Hrgovic in a hard battle, Fury will fight a more damaged and aged version of Usyk. Of course this will happen after Fury vs AJ in September, where Turki and Fury will earn millions and millions of dollars more.

Usyk is the unwanted element in this equation, and he will be eliminated. Hearn, AJ, Turki and Fury all want it. Even DAZN.

On the other hand, I don't think Usyk will get more than $5M for fighting Hrgovic.

Hrgovic could have had a good fighter on his resume if Parker had not run after money due to greed and chose Zhang, who will crush him and send Parker to oblivion...

If Parker had chosen Hrgovic for March, he'd now be looking for a new opponent because Hrgovic would have pulled out for the same reason that he decided not to fight Dubois/Bakole/Miller etc.

You can't tell me that he'd be happy to fight Parker in March and then possibly Usyk in May, when he clearly isn't up for Miller in March and Usyk in May.

Although I also worry about whether Usyk will get treated fairly, I think you are too pessimistic:

    - Re trying to damage Usyk to help Fury, I don't think this is the aim: 1) If Fury fights AJ first, he will definitely take damage and may even lose to be honest. Joshua hits as hard as Hrgovic and is getting underrated now, he already gave Usyk a tough fight. 2) If Hrgovic wins, they would suddenly have a Hrgovic problem instead of an Usyk problem. Usyk is way more marketable than Hrgovic, so they don't want that.
    - I don't think the Saudi's really like Fury, his team are way too difficult to deal with. If they want someone to emerge on top it's more likely to be AJ, who is the most marketable and younger than Usyk or Fury. I think AJ has a pretty good chance of beating Fury if he gets there first (I think current Fury is actually pretty shot and his wins over Wilder flatter him as Wilder was never that good) and also beating an old Usyk in the trilogy fight.
    - Usyk will definitely get more than $5 million for fighting Hrgovic, Saudi money is real.

I do actually like Hrgovic and hope he gets his chance soon (although I want Usyk Fury first so Usyk can get undisputed) so I have nothing against Hrgovic. Just not sure he's making the right decision as I don't want him to get frozen out of the picture.

A bit silly. Fury likely won't pull out again, even if he picks up an injury, as the fallout is just too big.
In reality this guy doesn't really seem to want the risks. Took a paycheck here to be the spare.
You can't fight De Mori at this stage and be taken seriously.
Even fighting Tom Little years ago was ridiculous.
