Both of those have always been the A side fighters

Uysk has only recently obtained that in negotiations

The WBO should just request Usyk provide something from his doctor. Like they have with Bivol.

Shut your ass up, he can do whatever he wants even if doesn’t plan on retiring. Now go suck Itauma off more.

You shouldn't want a clogged division. Aren't you a Spence fanboy btw ?

Maybe they will. Depends if Parkers team dispute.

Who disputed Bivol? The WBO appear to have requested medical proof as a matter of course in his case.

    Clearly double standards.

Spence was an actual p4p talent, Itauma is a British hype job. And no that doesn’t mean he won’t win a title because we know once the older guys retire it’s dog **** land in there.

The "older guys". Itauma just beat one of them, Whyte beat Parker and is Furys 3rd best win. Joshua in his prime got smoked by Dubois and Ruiz, and Fury retired before any of the younger contenders could get him. Its a new era now, the old talent pool had its time, but none of them were great besides Usyk who moved up. This generation is getting surpassed

Okay, these are the common go-to excuses for Usyk (some a valid). But let's look at this a little:

    2018
Usyk demonstrates he is quite capable of engaging in a big money fight with a quick turn around when he fought Bellew.

    2019

Usyk injures his bicep trying to make the transition to HW. Usyk fights Chazz Witherspoon (2019-10-12), not Spong, not Takam. Takam still wants the fight that was originally scheduled from May, and Usyk logically needed opponents to acclimatize himself to the weight...

    1. There is a 4~5 month gap for such an opponent before COVID shuts down boxing (+1 fight)

    2020
COVID lockdowns effectively shutdown boxing from beginning of March until beginning of August. Usyk fights Chisora (2020-10-31). Many people want to fight Usyk at this point...

    2. There is a 6~7 month gap before WBO orders negotiations with Joshua to begin (+1 fight)

    2021/2022.
Negotiations start in mind-May, and Usyk fights Joshua (2021-09-25). Usyk has signed a rematch clause.
Usyk needs time off for war in the Ukraine and Joshua needs time too. The rematch is scheduled for a year later.
(note: other ranked Ukrainian fighters were competing in international bouts 3~4 times during 2022, but Usyk is a figurehead for the Ukraine efforts, so this year gap is understandable)

    2022/2023
Usyk starts chasing Fury for a fight, but it is clear Fury doesn't want any part of it.
WBA orders Usyk to defend against Dubois on December 2022.
In 2023 Dubois is injured, but Usyk further delays the fight until August 26th. Fury fights Ngannou October 28th.

    3. There is a 20-month gap between Joshua 2 and Fury 1, Usyk only fights Dubois... (+1 fight)

    2024
A rematch clause with Fury forces Usyk to fight twice in 2024. Finally, some activity!

    2025
Rematches Dubois, and asks for a 90-day extension, signalling he would prefer to go back to one fight per year...

Despite some legitimate issues, his activity levels are abysmal, especially considering he has held at least 3 belts since 2021

The plot thickens...now SkySports are reporting that the WBO has yet to grant any extension:

"But the [WBO] has confirmed it is yet to agree a longer negotiation period, and the 30-day deadline to reach a deal with Parker, which was set on July 24, is fast approaching."

I am amazed at the "he can do whatever he likes". Lol.

Usyk has 5 title defenses in 4 years. I do have some sympathy for the fact that there was a delay due to Ukraine war and also due to Fury stalling and trying to age Usyk out.

That being said, Usyk had an obligation to defend vs Parker and not Dubois. Why sign to rematch Dubois after Dubois pulled out of fighting Parker?

The whole "he can do whatever he likes" is fan boyism. He has 5 title defenses, not 15. A guy with 15 plus defenses who has cleaned everything out can do whatever he wants, not someone with 5 defenses.

Usyk has done a marvelous job of cleaning out the division and ending the Fury/Joshua/Wilder nonsense. But its time for a new era of active heavyweights.

The stripping needs to happen now. Give Parker the title and get him to defend va Wardley while Itauama is dealing with Franklin. If Parker beats Wardley and Itauma wins, set up Parker-Itauma.

    Time to move on.

Usyk CAN do whatever he wants

He's almost 39 y/o and at the end of his career and maybe Dubois II was the end of it

If he chooses to retire, he CAN retire

If he chooses to continue fighting, he CAN continue fighting

If he chooses to fight someone else instead of J-Park, he CAN choose to fight someone else, providing he vacates the belt and, duh, that's what he's going to have to do if so

But whatever he decides to do, it will be perfectly acceptable and he's earned the right to do so.

His career has been devoid of A side privilege up until very recently and he's conducted himself with the utmost class in and out of the ring and won and unified all his belts in his opponent's backyards sans one which was still on the road, almost all of his opponents were in their primes or on the right side of 35 sans a couple and the other times they weren't he was older than them, and he beat them all with pure skill and zero use of dirty tactics, deck-stacking, trying to cripple or weaken them at the negotiating table all of which does not apply to so many of his fellow greats, the vast majority of them even

A deep Soviet brother finally gets himself into the driver's seat and finally becomes the A side right at the end of his career and people are all bent out of shape about it whilst they simultaneously suckle on the plums of North American divas and greats from previous eras who forged careers being the A side

It might be AI writing articles or something like that. I reckon the 30 day has been granted.

Also how do we know he hasn't given evidence to the WBO, they might have just chosen not to share it. I just assumed he had otherwise the WBO wouldn't have entertained it, but I have no clue.
