Yes but tall guys are 15 tiles better at utilizing their height today. Holmes was the first one to do classic super hw boxing.

NO. He would tested for PEDs and be disqualified. ;)

The point I see being made is, people have seriously argued that past HWs could not have competed with the modern iterations exclusively because today's HWs are too big and too tall - almost entirely parking the skill factor. So while I take onboard all of the above, and agree with much, at least now we can say that if old time fighters wouldn't be able to hang with today's physical specimens it's not because of size and weight, it's skill and the evolution of technique.

In doing this, we can then look at fighters from the past on a case-by-case basis and not write them off en block for being 'too small'...

He is confident without being cocky and disrespectful to the others.

Can someone bring @GALVATRON and @James Smith back? They should enlighten us a little more about how Joshua would beat Ali with one hand tied behind his back.

i actually thought AJ did ok, considering who he was up against, but he didnt do enough to win the fight, usyk did, and very convincingly too, and i dont see rematch being too much different. I dont think he has IQ to bulldoze him at the right moments, hence this trying to outfox the fox game plan, if he tried to blast him out, and failed, he would have been gassed, everyone knows that. Absolute respect to usyk though, what a way to win a championship, he didnt even need to knock him out, dominance from that start, AJ is elite, but Usyk is a ****ing freak, and i say that in the most complimentary way

Or if a blown-up LHW southpaw was around to give him a schooling.

That's not great boxing..... Pawing with jabs most occasions, predictable movement, missing most countering opportunities, very little upper body movement, . As I wrote in my 1st post on this subject, one fighter, (Usyk) was only a tad bit less robotic than the other ( Joshua)

If you can't see the merit in Usky's performance, then that tells me all that I need no know, about your ability to evaluate some fighter from 100 years ago by watching film of them.

You are clearly not good at evaluating a fighter based on footage, or even competent for that matter.

Joe Bugner DID utilize his height and reach. Did you even watch those fights ? Do you even know what you're talking about ?

Because of an injury, Vitali was clearly winning the fight up until then.

They're stylistically different to Fury bonehead. Also Cooper had a better left hook than Fury, just because Fury is a better boxer doesn't mean he does EVERYTHING better. Fury throws sloppy hooks, counters and combinations. The closest thing to Ali that Fury fought was Cunningham and Fury admitted that Cunninghams slickness and mobility gave him issues. Guess what Ali's good at ?
